mike, 10 Sep 2009What are "green line areas?" Green line areas are specific to Israel and defines Palestinian territories. When you have this option checked, the application warns you when you try to navigate on a road which passes through Palestine.

              Hey,

I wanted to clarify this issue:

The version we are offering on the User Group is a free beta version.

When I say a beta version It doesn’t necessarily mean that is the newest Telmap on the market.
(It is also not our brand new v5.0 version)

It simply means it is a version that we use in order to test certain features of the application.

The main idea here is that you get the application free of charge and in return you will, once in a while, send us some feedbacks.

              Best

              Roi

You just have to go into the options and change the map settings to indicate that you're in North America

If you have any phone not on the list, don't waste your time.
If you click "other", it says they aren't offering anything for your device at this time.
I think they are just trying to get email address's to bombbard with advertisements about their products in the future.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2009$20 for mobile internet + $20 for a half of a year of navig... moreOuch on the price!

Garmin's version which is included on media card sounds much better and it's already been in the market for awhile!

Telmap needs to do some considerable work and offer affordable prices since it's coming into the GPS field so late!

too bad its not like garmin mobile xt... download all maps and no data plan needed. Be careful with data usage, especially when you're roaming.

Not bad, but needs some useability testing and recommendations made, such as: 1) would like to see AGPS used, not just phone GPS 2) would like the option to pair with external bluetooth GPS unit 3) would like to be able to search with partial postcodes 4)General user improvements for navigating around application
                            - not used it yet so further comments to follow!

                                  Hi,

My name is is Roi and I am the User Group Administrator at Telmap.
I would like to address some of the comments here.
Please note that we vary the devices supported in the Telmap User Group according to our particular needs from time to time.
We actually do support more devices - however right now we are concentrating on the ones listed in the article.
Within a few weeks we will be adding more devices to the Telmap User Group.
On Symbian S60 our application is native.
Please note that if you install a particular version on a different device and it works - then it's purely by chance.
Each device family has it's specific build and we recommend only installing the correct build for your device.

It's a java application, chose S.E. W995 and noticed that it downloads the same version, 4.57.10, 1707 kB big, for any S.E. mobile. It works on Nokia E51, so I guess it works on any S60 Nokia, even some recent S40 models. It crashes at Drive/Walk to function, when trying to obtain Traffic reports (that are unavailable in my area), but invoking Traffic reports from the menu does not trigger crashing, it just says No traffic reports.
