Just stop for a second and think about that company.. I mean there are eleven people employed (plus accompanied people and owners) who do all the work. They started their business from zero, competing with gigants. Even if they don't sell a million devices, to me they are doing an amazing job. Hats down for them all especially for the brave founders. If I didn't own a M8 I'd probably as well order a oneplus one. They have my respect and I wish them only good results!

the prize tag is amazing but making people buy via a online invitation plan isn't that cool at all. and exactly how many months they spent after announcing the handset. there will be a big hit on the sales for the one plus one. they maybe a bit too late too.

People saying that the invitation system was a mess, and it could have sold more if it weren't for that.- Are they really thinking before they write?
OnePlus is a "new found" company, which didn't know how many devices will sell, so they have built just a few and the invite system was there to keep control of the sales.

Adiyel, 06 Nov 2014I don't agree with you, there. I got an invite quite early,... moreThe phone itself is not amazing, it's only the price that is amazing. Double the price and would it still be "amazing"? I doubt it.

No way they can do this.
Just simple math. OnePlus, "released" (so to speak) in late May...June through October, selling around 500,000 and now they say they can produce another 500,000 in two months?
Not likely...Oppo builds them on their line, and they are probably wanting to produce the Find7, N3 before they produce for their cousin OnePlus.

They could have released it months ago and have a million handset sold by end of fall or summer.

MaxSmarties, 06 Nov 2014Basically a complete fiasco. The "flagship killer"... moreThe companies are rather different. Apple already have a huge fan base and a massive advertising budget. OnePlus are a start up with word of mouth and social media advertising, I'd say they had made a success of it.

MaxSmarties, 06 Nov 2014Basically a complete fiasco. The "flagship killer"... moreI don't agree with you, there. I got an invite quite early, bought it and used it for about 2 weeks before giving it to my fiance. The phone is amazing. period. The invite system was a mess, and so were all the "contests..."

But having a phone of that caliber WITH CM built in AND only set you back $350? Count me in for OnePlus Two, if it's gonna be a 64-bit 5" screen phone with a similar but improved layout, it's gonna seriously play tug of war with me over the Xperia Z4 Compact.

...and before anyone asks why i gave it away if it was so good, i only gave it up because my fiance needed a new phone and my ZR was only about a year old, so that way she won't be getting a new one outta me for a couple years!

Other people probably made more profit, as a whole, by selling the invites. Or the phones at a premium because they were so unobtainable. Nice bit of kit though.

Great hardware and value for the money.

Basically a complete fiasco. The "flagship killer" sold in 6 months the same number Apple can sales in three days. Impressive ....... not

Next year oneplus 2 will cost $499 then oneplus 3 will cost $600-700 just like any flagship phone. Look at Hauwei, they start $299 for ascend mate 2. People are loving it then they ballooning to $650 for ascend mate 7.
