Why not stick with FHD? It will be a lot easier on the GPU to push the pixels... I think they should concentrate more on battery optimization, smartphones don't even last a day of usage (FYI heavy usage).. 4K on a tablet? Yeah you're welcome...!

AnonD-2370, 07 Nov 2014Good stuff. But 6gb ram. Because samsung is already manufa... moreu understand dat wat samsung is producing is a '6gb' ram.
the unit is 'bit' which is 1/8 of 'byte'. which is written as capital "B"
and samsung has also exolained in detail dat they are planning to make '24gb' ram by using four '6gb' rams.
which means it is a '3GB' ram with faster speed.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. I'm all in favor of 1440p on displays of 6" or bigger, but even there you're pushing it, in my opinion. ~500 ppi is right on the border of being overkill, and we're already there with QHD. Doubling the pixel count over and above that is just pointless. NO ONE can detect the difference, until they look at their battery indicator.

are you kidding me? a 6 inch phone? have we forgotten what a "mobile" phone means? its supposed to be portable. and 1080p displays were more than excellent. 4k is just ridiculous. it's just gonna drain more battery while not having any affect on the picture quality. try to improve battery life so the phone lasts a week. we dont need plasma TVs in our pockets.

no matter what happens to battery or how much will it cost, now I'm sure that every manufacturer are getting mad one by one,
G3 failure on battery!! now it's time for note 5...
it only can succeed if they put some beast battery about 5000mah and with that and other high specs how much does it cost?!! 1000$ ?!! do they care?!!

--- My Following Comment for S6 also applicable for NOTE-5 too.
--- In Indian Metro Cities (esp. Mumbai), Thousands/Millions of mobile users listen to FREE FM-Radio while traveling to and fro to office. They have stopped buying Samsung long back after S4 S5 Note3 Note4 etc... models. These customers changed to brands like Sony LG etc.. This is REAL FACT.
--- SAMSUNG S6/NOTE-5 Indian version with FM-Radio could address these customers need, and hence more selling.

                    Phew!
I missread and thought it was the new Galaxy S6 (The SGS series usually is released in the springtime).

The next Note is a year away, isn't it?

I'm still afraid that the next SGS will be a phone with a screen bigger than five inch.

All I'm ready to pay for, is a phone with a screen around four inches, but with premium cpu and gpu...

Mobilemaster, 07 Nov 2014Please don't do that Samsung! It's pointless!!! Even QHD is... moreQhd is only pointless for people with normal or bad eyesight like what you have. I have a way better than 20/20 vision and hate being ables to recognize the pixels so we don't need good enough. If you want good enough go get a low end phone. This is for the top dogs ok. 4k screen also allows for a better VRM experience too. 6" 4k screen will be perfect. With the 6gb ram modules samsung has also been working on. With 128gb ramd and an octave core 3ghz or higher cpu. But first they should put the 4k on the Note tablet

The problem is the side bezels. Even if they disappear, the size of the display couldn't be more 5.8" and keep same device footprint.
