Mark, 08 Nov 2014Thank god I own N9..........priceless feeling when out.I assume by OUT you mean no signal. The signal degradation of my N9 was obvious after only half a year and after a year it could barely get a signal at all and then it was too late, warranty expired. Yes, N9 really makes you OUT, out of the loop that is.

Actually, to continue from my previous post, i think google is doing a great job in switching people over to iOS, and so is WP but from a very different angle. It wasnt until i bough iPad Air (after being stupid enough to buy a totally useless tablet, ie Android) i realized how great a job google is doing in promoting iOS but i still struggle to find the reason why WP is doing the same but in another way. The quality of WP apps is so similar to Symbian, what happened to the burning platform of Elop, if Symbian was so doomed why is MS following the same pattern in WP apps, by always leaving so much more to be desired, desires that only iOS can fulfill? The killing of Symbian has so far only benefited everyone else than WP, what then is the direction of WP?

I can add that it didnt matter for me personally, i was never a big fan of Symbian and changed to Maemo5 immediately when presented with the chance to do so offered by Nokia N900, and later N9 with MeeGo (crap by the way) and Android (crap but better than Symbian and MeeGo still). My point is simply this: What is WP trying to offer other than a OS switch?

Whatever, windows phone is a failed OS. How come Facebook Messenger don't support Voice Call as it's in FB where many of my friends and relatives are online. So it is supposed to be cheaper and very convenient to have Voice Call feature.

            FAILED.... FAILED.

I'm not trolling in here. I owned a Nokia Lumia 1020.

MS is really surprising me on this one! WHY isnt it 5.5 inch, like the others? Dont they know that the current trend dictatates that we hold our phones as far away from the face as possible to not see the giant pixels?

Im lucky, my daughter have a selfie monopod, so we can hold the phones far enough away to not see the big pixels, but theres a problem still, using the selfie monopod we cannot reach the display to do touch input.

And whats next? 2015 will bring phones with 7 inch displays with only one big pixel? we sure are getting dangerously close to that point. qHD belongs on 3 to 3.5 inch displays, BARELY.

Compared to the 520, the 530 gave no reason to 'upgrade'. This one, with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage (I expect 5GB to be available to the end-user), will address the failings of the 530. As always, price will be the telling factor. I hope MS don't try to bump up their margins on this. Now, if MS could just focus on addressing the glaring holes in WP8 (eg. save PDF to user-space 'Documents' directory), they may actually be on a winner.

Microsoft will gain market shares with these low end phones. They will also need a really high end phone to display their superiority. Microsoft has all the money in the world to market their phones, unlike before with Nokia had no money and had to rely on carriers to do marketing for them. Windows Phone is the best mobile OS out there IMO. It's fast, stable, and consistent. It fits for both enterprise and consumer markets.

With a good price this phone will sell as good as the Nokia Lumia 520. Good they keep the design as what the Nokia team introduced.
