What happen NOKIA? far behind is one kind, but does not means need to out backward and ugly phone.

Some of you people are just IQ 10. This is for kids that text and email alot and still want to have the open sopftware purks of the S60. I remember Nokia and Motorola released the same kinda of device with the same design and simplified qwerty keyboard a few years back. One weel later, every kid under 12 had one of them phones. This is for kids, and if you still feel need to get one as a grown up then it's up to you.
You really think it makes sense that Nokia is releasing this phone to compete with other phones when they clearly can make phones like the E71, N97 or the 6700 Classic?
This is a segment phone meant for children, get over it.

This phone is specifically made for ATT from my understanding. It might look kind of bulky but I think it serves it's purpose. It is loaded with functions and it is meant for the kids. It is specifically designed for US consumer and it is not a HighEnd phone but it is loaded with features. Very logical move on Nokias side. And it is all about marketing. You can make people think that is better than iPhone, it's just the matter of amount of money you want to spend to accomplish that.

Nokia seems come out with philosophy "Never late than not at all" things related to phone goes to more speed (800-1000MHz), Camera (10-12 MPix) wider screen at least 3.7-4 inches, and exotic design and high memory 32Gb.

Its fairly designed wit an outlook dat gives u a second glimpse..general impression is quite better than wats on the inside..its quite disapointing dt nokia moves back nd forth wit their fone features such dat we cant generally say 2009 was an era of 5mpixel cameras ,i.pod like music players and all..this retrogressive thinking wud surely cost Nokia their customers cos we wana see sumting new n go 'WoW'...pls tink outside d box...we're waiting to buy out d stores if u bring in somtn difrnt...i own an n96 n am bored already afta 2mths

For your information, nothing is easier than just to put an X pixel camera module into the phone. Nokia is one of the few companies who truly understand something about photography. It is not a megapixel game. A Nokia 5MP camera can be much much better than the 12 MP camera from company X. The laws of physics dictate how much useful information you can collect with a certain optics, certain sensor size and certain nominal resolution.
Nokia uses Carl Zeiss lenses and optics in its high-end phones and they are far superior compared e.g. to iPhone ones. Then, Nokia's CCD size is matched with other camera capabilities, especially the resolution and lense dimensions. If you use a 12 MP resolution together with lousy optics, you just gather more noise and the picture quality will be worse than with 5 MP.
And about the Surge - if someone cannot figure it out himself - it is not meant to be a high-end smart phone, do the math.
