Nexus Update Checker application shows Update ready for Download but Verify and Install as Not Ready.
The regular system update check shows your System up to date for Nexus 5.

Nexus 5 user as well from Gujarat India.. Havnt got any update notification yet.. Also own a moto g second gen..even that hasnt got any update yet!!

Google will not release ota updates to all the users of a particular nexus device in one go. For example on 12th and 13th of November only 5℅ of "nexus 7 2012" users got the ota(over the air) update . But by the end of November all the nexus devices with 5.0 images released on https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images , would get the OTA update of android 5.0 lollipop too.

What I would suggest that you can take a quick back-up and then format your phone to get it back to its factory settings. Because some times the other apps that we download and install from play store run certain scripts in background which might obstruct the normal stock functioning of android. This seriously worked for me when I upgraded to KitKat 4.4.4. Even before I did this, a nexus 4 owner told me that he already got the update whereas my nexus 5 didn't..?? WTF!! Now just do it..
