AnonD-330646, 13 Nov 2014Actually, according to both caliper photos, it is somewhere... morethank you for your intro to reading a caliper, but you've obviously never held oen in your hands.....cause if you did, you'd know theres a height difference between the two parts that make up a caliper....so in the first photo, the expertly trained eye of someone who has used a caliper, ie me, can see that there's an angle to the picture, the measurement is actually 3.75, the picture is skewed, the second picture shows a true front view and again it's 3.75.
the first picture tricks you into thinking it;s more than 3.75, but it's actually the fact that the slider is seen at an angle and appears to be past the 3.8 range.

The paper can handle quite a lot of bending without getting useless. Though it can get crumbled if the bending is too sharp.
And it is really hard to transport a piece of paper without something supporting it. But sure one day the phone could be in our wallets - if we still got wallets.

Some of you said that it's not much use to have thinner phone. I prefer to see them as technology advancement that has a goal in the future where phone will not look like what it is today. I'm sure that they have a dream to have the phone as thin as paper in which we can fold it just like a sheet of paper. So, by that dream, even the 3.75mm is still too thick. But it's a good progress, it's an awesome progress in fact. We need to always put our dreams far in the future.

The two zeroes are aligned at zero distance, and they are usually printed some 3-5mm offset from the edges (look closely at drawing number 5 in the link)

Think we're missing the point here.
Bigger bezels = bigger overall footprint (smaller screen to footprint ratio)
'Mobile' phone. Where do we store or phone when mobile? In our pockets. What's the most likely pocket? Trouser or chest pocket? Trouser. Front or back trouser pocket? If you don't want your phone stolen (or bent) the front pocket. What's more ergonomically suitable for a front trouser pocket shape? Large flat plate it small thicker profile? The latter. What's more suitable for ergonomic use whilst in the hand - large flat plate out smaller footprint rounder profile? The latter.
Hats off to Vivo for their innovation, but I have a feeling they're trying too hard for a niche that is practically pointless other than bragging rights.
The novelty of bragging rights would wear off when the day to day practicality of use kicks in.

actually 3.5mm jack adopt from computer. that's why nokia's 2.5mm jack never got success. now they are thinking how to reduce smartphone thickness.

What is the use of making thinner phones when battery life sucks. I myself doesnt mind carrying thicker phone as long as I don't have to charge it twice a day.
