15 November, 2014
We don't have a time frame for the mass market release just yet, but it shouldn't be long now.

If I'm not mistaken miui got a kitkat update in may 2014. And kitkat was released in september or october 2013. So 7 or 8 months.. So get your details right before judging the author.. Not saying the bigger companies are any better though. Only a few like Moto have been consistently fast on their updates..

And please do not say that Kitkat has nothing to offer over Jellybean...
They are just experimenting with their custom software and pushing a weekly update (which is not unstable or something as I have used MiUi for a long time without any issues). But where is the major OS update?

Just look in the forums and you will see. Or the update fixes 4 bugs but introduces 2 new ones. Why can't they just create and release a solid/stable build that maybe needs an update every quarter or something?

Xiaomi may have produced some compelling hardware at an unbeatable price. However they are violating the GPL license. The Xiaomi Mi3 kernel source has not been release to the public yet.
