Apple profits rise 15% on sales of 2.6M Macs, 5.2M iPhones
Apple said Tuesday that third-quarter profits rose nearly 15 percent to $1.23 billion, or $1.35 per diluted share, on record non-holiday quarter sales of $8.34 billion for the three-month period ended June 27, 2009.
.Quarterly iPhones sold were 5.2 million, representing 626 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter.
"We're making our most innovative products ever and our customers are responding," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We're thrilled to have sold over 5.2 million iPhones during the quarter and users have downloaded more than 1.5 billion applications from our App Store in its first year."

s.e. walkman w580 series prooves that the s.e. walkman models are not that good like they were used to be . the w580 model is the most returned mobile product for the last few months since the time it got released . its a good point that the w580 maybe the biggest mistake s.e. ever made . w580 gave a death mark to s.e. name - keypad cracking , crashing , lags , signal drop problems all in one device .
one other thing that made s.e. brand this much worse and second to the best brand Nokia - the walkman series got boring animations and menus just like the s.e. k and c series products same old firmware in almost all s.e. products and with two or three options changed here and there each time they relelase a new phone , plus the s.e. firmware is really well known for crashing stuck up and lag problems . since s.e. doesnt have inbuilt processors like most nokias its a shame that just a firmware is getting stuck up on usage . nokias are way better cuz they perform with quality processors and uses symbian os . symbian os supports millions of applications while s.e. firmware is having difficult moments finding java supported softwares around the internet . the s.e. walkman series mega bass option is just a marketing gimmik its just a equalizer preset - in nokia xpress music model u can match the s.e. mega bass sounds just by changing the equalizer presets in order (some gsmarena xpress music reviews have confirmed this) . s.e.s are just for ppl who wanna get bored with ur mobile just in two three weeks while nokia xpress music is for ppl who wanna love there mobiles for a life time .
im not getting paid by nokia - so im not promoting nokia brand but we all know that nokia is best around but s.e. used to be the second best but it seems like this time samsung and lg will take the s.e.'s place . s.e. i hope u will survive . and congt. Nokia ur still the best .

not really - nokia did release really good products after n95 / if they thought n95 was there only last glory they shouldve upgraded it with anyway and would have released it again they didnt / even for now they release the most advance symbian latest edition with there mobiles / for 5800 there were 1000s of ppl standing infront of mobile stores just to buy it when it got released /
nokia products were better than s.e. in every way cuz they dont wanna release a product unless they are sure if its capable of handling the situation , and they dont take much time to release a product / s.e. kept releasing beta testing products to customers . w580 was my most hateful . they dont even wanna listen to what ppl say , they were acting so strange ppl lost there trust , i dont think they will ever listen . i feel so bad for s.e.

That 2005 was Nokia's peak,the N95 was their last great phone and they haven't shown any real innovation since then, the N95 is like Motorola's RAZR, in that Nokia and Motorola thought that the good times would never end so didn't push any new boundaries.
The market proves that, their capitalization has slid from $120 Billion to $50 Billion in that time and that, my friend comes down to poor management.

Nokia are the kings of hype.
They dont really care about anything else but that.
They have built a fake myth of reliable phones, competent and above all EXPENSIVE for what they offer!!
People who want to use their phones as a reaffirmation of their "superior" social/financial status, they have to buy overpriced phones!!
And thats exactly where Nokia stands!!
Their cheap phones are lesser in specs and liability than other companies, whoever they carry a luxury name and clueless ppl still recognise them as good devices...
Only smth like the super-hyped iphone can change that!
Hype is all what matter for a social status symbol!!
OS, specs and value/money seem to be irrelevant, 5800 demonstrates that and now N97 even more. Nokia was left behind in the huge display level and multi-purpose devices, true smartphones, like the iphone, arena, xperia, omnia etc
Nokia failed to bring up a new competent answer(N97) for that, but STILL!!!
Their blind followers bought the xpress toy, just because of the brand name!!!
Thats impressive, Nokia will always be the leading company, because they can sell any crap they want, without even trying to fool the majority of users.
They are established as a company and the hype is enough to guarantee the success, even if their progress have fallen behind a great deal.
The massive profit coming from the overpriced devices, will guarantee, that they can always follow/copy the ideas of innovative companies, who make the difference and are having some temporary gains over them...
(like they did with the multi-color display, then the camera, then the bigger screen, now the touchscreen and windows/apple like interface and so on...

Nokia's practice of product proliferation has always kept it number one in the market. It never focused on niche marketing unlike SE, Nokia came up for everyone and will remain with everyone. NOKIA ROCKSS!

Why Nokia can sell their Smartphone with lower price? because Nokia owner of Symbian S60 different with Samsung , LG & SE they must pay royalti to Nokia if use Symbian S60.
