Every release of new major version update of iOS (and new iDevice ofcourse) make it seems like Apple intentionally make older iDevices become obsolote in term of performance to softly force their users to upgrade to newer/newest iDevices, also the inability to downgrade officially (or unifficially too for A5+) to any older version makes it more obvious.

iDevices (i.e. older Phone) also unstable with new OS, only the brand new product has full support. And (I believe) older iDevices only get lite version instead of full version of the updates :)

                  Regarding old android devices:
Do we count unofficial (not from manufacturers) update support for example: cyanogen mod rom (even if it's not even official cm release)?
And what is it called for unofficial of unofficial?

Hey, eventhough Android not maintained officially; it's open source and maintained by communities to enable latest OS on older devices. No, iDevices can't compete on this aspect.

If you ask me "how many iDevices run latest OS?", certainly some of it, can be counted by fingers. But, "how many Android Devices run latest OS?" Event your brain can't counts it :D

Strangely enough, it's 63.9 MB on my iphone 5s, so it's around 64 MB, as announced in the article, but it's 364 MB on my ipad air. Will update tomorrow and see what happens.

Nice of Apple to take a break from being a scrooge by ungimping older devices with the lag and bugs introduced in iOS 8.0.2 and 8.1. Happens like clockwork with every major release that I think it's intentional to get less patient customers to buy a new model than waiting for that magical x.1.1 or x.1.2 fix.
