that's really really a good news. but then what i hope the most is, whether the homescreen on 5800xm would rotate like the one done on n97? i hope nokia will release this issue too. oh yea... the camera is improving, hope to see the improvements on vivid color performance as well as flash performance. Nokia, show us even more surprises. ^^

for everyone's interest in this fone, you no longer need to double tap anywhere on the phone screen, if you follow nokia beta labs and only if gsmarena kept up with the latest news.the java runtime update not only speeds up the UI and app. launch time, but also brings in good touch response.this is from my personal experience.

5800 users can get the update from here:
                            http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-java-runtime-20-for-s60

but then i just don't understand why nokia is'nt using the 3d graphics hardware accelerator and a dual CPU in the present fones.how do they imagine that the so called "flagship" device like the n97 can get away with a mere 128 mb of RAM, which is the only reason for any UI lag on it today !!

Given by the reputation of Nokia, it is tooooo hard to believe. They certainly can't ditch the sales of n97 and 5530 by updating 5800 to such an extent. Nokia certainly isn't Apple or other Winmob manufactures who simply give some great firmware updates for their existing models!
