Nokia Xseries and Cseries coming up, geeks hold breath

20 July, 2009
It was all about four-digit model numbers with Nokia in the beginning. Then N-Gage stepped in, with the Nseries and the Eseries following shortly after. Now two more letters are joining the party...

Yer, Nokia is my Brand, I love it, the pro is one, it tends to produce phones which look abit simillar eg 1202_1203, 1661_1662, that confuses consumers. So let me not expect the same for c and x to look like other High end Phones.

C for e-C-onomist, which means for the best valued phones.
X for e-X-treme, which meand for the rough phones (i.e. waterproof, dust resistant, etc)

I would LOVE to see a bigger, stronger E90! I love the inside keybord and screen that is protected. I just tried the N97 for a week, and my kids are getting it - just don't make it against the E90 OR the iPhone. Just a pity Nokia is losing it's contact with their market - have you lately tried to phone their customer service? What a joke!

On the other hand, I prefer models by number, they are easier to identify and tell which one's newer or older, which category do they belong, etc... plus... calling my cellphone "cookie" would only ridiculize me.

I never discovered why Nokia never used number 4 in its phone model names. Nokia used all the numbers as model names except the 4 in the beginning of the model name. Can somebody clear me this? BR
