Nokia Xseries and Cseries coming up, geeks hold breath

20 July, 2009
It was all about four-digit model numbers with Nokia in the beginning. Then N-Gage stepped in, with the Nseries and the Eseries following shortly after. Now two more letters are joining the party...

Anonymous, 21 Jul 20091. this is not a forum, its a comments section 2. it w... moreThe only thing this forum is infested is brainless fanboys! It does not matter for which brand are they, the common thing is that they are brainless.

Normal people understand that phone maunfacturers only want to sell phones and make the most profit. Their goal is not custumer satisfaction. If they would want that they would build one or two phones which has all the available futures and sell it for a normal price.

I have worked alot in mobile phone manufacturing plants and now i reapair phones. I had a chanse to see the production costs of Nokia N series phones (same as all other brands) and they are not more than 1-2 £ / phone. Ok, there is marketing and resurch as well, but still they are making huge profits on us and on the poor people who get poor wages in their manufacturing plants.

So everytime I see somebady in love with a brand i think about how interesting is that phone manufacturers do everything to cheat and steel us and there are still people out there who love tham.

It would be easy to build finished products, phones without bugs, with sufficient hardware so that the phone does not lag and freeze all the time, but that is not what they want. they want to sell every little improvement many times over and over again.

In this process they use huge amount of energy, human effort, time and money that could be used for smarter things. And what is the end product of this? Pure waste! because thay make sure that the build qulaity is so poor that after one or two years it is broken so needs to be replaced.

This is our problem. We have the technology and the knowladge to make things better for everybody but profit comes above all.

        Profit.. profit.. faster.. faster...

            1. this is not a forum, its a comments section

            2. it would be not like this if it werent for apple fanboys like m3gi invading every Nokia/SE thread and spreading the iphone lunacy

            3. gizmodo and engadget are also 2 popular sites invaded by this apple fanboy disease

            4. iphone supremacists - think since iphone is popular in USA, then it is the same for the whole rest of the world

Symbian also went from S60v3 to S60v5 because Nokia are scared of China.

jUST i, 20 Jul 2009For me, it is only a marketing language to boost the sales ... moreAnd someone used to say 6-series being "business", then all of the sudden the E-series comes out which also being marketed as "business phones".

Meanwhile, even after E-series has been released, the almighty brand still keeps pumping out nth number of 6-series, some of which have "classic" as the suffix (but with little relationship with the previous model with the same number)

Is the almighty brand really running out of model numbers? How many 1xx0, 2xx0 have not been used? And why not continue to use 9-series instead of E or N series?

Last but not least, why there doesn't seem to have any "4" series from the almighty brand?
