Who wants a phone with a back that looks like a band aid? And useless features that nobody ever uses like a heart rate scanner or group play or Samsung Hub or whatever else there is. Yet they leave out features like FM radio and Stereo speakers which people do want. I used to love Samsung but they must start listening to their customers for a change, otherwise this will only get worse.

Note 4 manufacturing costs $260 approx and sells at $749 (32gb) off contract tmobile
Iphone 6+ costs approx $210 to $260(various storage sizes) and sells at $749 (16gb) and $849 (64gb)
Obviously this doesn't include overheads of marketing and r&d and stuff..
Both of them are milking the customers for money.. Samsung isn't the goody boy people make them to be.. You have to realise that all manufacturers are in it for the $$

Samsung should focus to stay on own superiority of hardware .Apple sales $199 phone in $999 in the market but Samsung sales $255 phone $655 in retail. Just improve design more stylish .

The main cost comes for purchase of parts and assembly + marketing etc.
And some of the sensor are well senseless.. How many users are going to need an oxygen saturation monitor?
IMO with Samsung it is best to wait 3 or 4 months.. They keep trying to raise the price of their device each generation but a couple of months down the line you have them on pretty good discounts (Apple has managed to always price their iphones at the same price since the very 1st gen to iphone 6 except the iphone 5c and 6+ and they don't drop the price till next gen arrives. I believe it is mostly because people who like iOS don't have an option. Whereas in android universe you have lots of options)

Note 4 might be a little expensive, but it is the most top of the line device available which took much more time and money in r and d.

Next year 2015 is a "more nightmare" for Samsung bussiness.
Chinese flagship CPU phone selling at usd250-299. Note4=usd849-950.
Note4 also going same path with S5 . Dont deny,every human being know about it.

The problem is that life cycle of cell phones is so short and is getting shorter... S3 is still in shelves and, for average users, he is good quite enough ... Good screen, good camera, have all necessary functions, maybe some lag but all in all satisfactory. And all that in 1/3 price of S5.

[deleted post]In your opinion G3 is better. By objective fact at that time S5 was the overall best.
Compared to G3 it had better display in all aspects except resolution and M8 didn't even have resolution advantage.
Durability is better compared to both. As well as soft comfortable texture.
Camera was better than both.
Headset output was better than G3.
The software is the original of which LG copied though is finally looking different with G3. Offers the most of the 3 while still having about the same free space.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and interaction. It's called "Air wake up". Turn it on.
Thanks for commenting though otherwise I would have never investigated to see whether the S5 has quick glance feature.
