This is an excellent idea - especially for business, as it could allow for more seamless switching between necessary applications, such as switching constantly between normal use, car use, and office applications (whatever they may be, the options would be nearly limitless) if this hits off, it could suit nearly everyone with a busy life that requires them to be in many places in a day.

I look at this and I remember the 8 Xelibri phones in my collection. When I say collection what I really mean is I bought 1 of each for my mobile phone store in London 5 or 6 years ago. I still have them as NO ONE WOULD BUY ONE!! Even though loads of people looked at then and commented on them, I could not convince anyone to take one... I have not thrown them into the rubbish as my kids find them amusing. My 13 daughter would never speak to me again if I took her BB Pearl away and gave her one of these !! So sorry Modu, I will see you on EBAY at 3 am with no reserve....

singlelayer, 24 Jul 2009I studied this handset with great interest when it was firs... morewhy would you want this to be a 'large touchscreen phone' with even bulkier jackets that only serve to limit your screen size? perhaps you should 'study it' further because your idea is fatally flawed and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. back to the drawing board gumby

SendoEx, 24 Jul 2009The concept of swapable jackets is nothing new. Nokia have ... moreNokia have done it? when? what model was that? Don't tell me what you mean is changing the cover look. Thanks!

I studied this handset with great interest when it was first announced. It would have been better if they'd created a large touchscreen phone that in the various 'jackets' showed different amounts/areas of the screen.

The concept of swapable jackets is nothing new. Nokia have done it and Sendo did it too and both to a much more customizable level.

This is just reinventing the wheel.

                                        It has great potential.

From what I've heard, now it's only a test run to see if the public likes it and then, if it works well, much more jackets will be revealed.

I've also heard another Modu phone is planned in a year or two. Of course it will be 3G and probably will enhance touch capabilities in ways we haven't seen before...

We shall wait and see, I keep the optimism.
