Biggest competitor is the Moto G itself, rather see that getting Snapdragon 615, 2GB RAM and 4G. Will even pay $250 for it.

Matthew, 03 Dec 20145 Inch... Moto is making everything biggg...Not 5 inch, 4.5, like the first Moto G, still acceptable up to about 4.7, since bezels has become much smaller in recent years.

They really need to make the pricing $99 to justify buying it or recommending it over a Moto G. But if they intend to keep the pricing, how do they justify still not having a LED flash and a front-camera?

Most probably it would be snapdragon 210 processor.anyway let's hope it is a run away hit.

5 inch... than I say "No thanks".
I was waiting to this phone, but this is too big, to buy.
Than it's true, that Motorola DO NOT produce any phone under 5 inch this year. Shame!!
I don't like big phones. I planned to buy Moto G 2014, but it was too big, now this is too big too. :(

the source talks about 4.5 inches so there must be a typo here!

It makes no sense to put a better chipset, than the moto Gs.Moto E is their lowest tier handset.
Even if somehow S410 ends up in the new Moto E, it will probably be a dual-core variant.

Nevertheless the old moto e is a very nice device, so any upgrade is totally welcome.Only that 5" screen may ruin the very good experience.
