Samsung and Apple collaborate on the design of the chips that Apple want, a bigger breakthrough will be Arm 9 multicore processors.
The iPhone uses a processor capable of 833MHz, underclocked to 600MHz.

2000DMIPS at 1GHz?! Freakin hell!! I don't believe it til i see it. Samsung already makes the processors for Apple products including the iPhone, but somehow they don't sell Apple their best processors by far. If this one is true, then Samsung just stepped into the future big time. With 2000DMIPS at 1GHz the limitation on a mobile device is endless, so start throwing away your laptops and HD video cameras. If Samsung puts this beast in a phone then they can make the first trult all-in-one device, proper HD camera, games, extreme high quality audio processing etc.

I am Sure that this chip is going to take mobile technology to the new hight.

Its the fact that it operates at 1 volt and is using the new 45 nM technology thats the point,,1ghz proccessors been round for years..The trouble using this new 45nM tech is leakage in the transistors because the dialectric is so thin but newer materials like "hafniun k "are solving this partially ..

Yeah Samsung rulez, hope they bring up Omnia 3 with this soon. But till then i´ll be happy with Omnia2.

Hard times for Qualcomm, not only because they make crappy SoCs, South Korean fair trade regulator slaps Qualcomm with record $208 million fine, due to abusing its market dominance in CDMA mobile phone chips by charging higher royalties for companies that used rival chipsets. It also said that Qualcomm favored customers (HTC) who used its products by offering rebates. EU will follow.
