What is up with T-Mobile and any other carrier that excludes the rest of the world from having the option to buy the newest cell phones being released on the market today? It’s not like T-Mobile has any real cool phones to offer their customers. If you want a better cell you have to search for anything we can find that will be compatible with our carrier (t-mobile). Then after reading review after review on new cell phones you find something you like. Then at the very end of it you read the following: “Unfortunately for our American friends T-Mobile USA has no plans to follow suit and will not offer the G2 Touch anytime soon." I sure hope t-mobile plans on a better future for us forgotten Americans. It’s time to offer the US something to get excited about and be proud to have t-mobile as their cell phone carrier.

I saw this HTC Hero advertised on Orange for an effective £24 pm. £35 with 15 months half price by redemption. So is a bit more reasonable than £40, but redemption sux, why make a customer go through hurdles to get a good deal.

MAtthew, 28 Jul 2009Hey can someone explain to me why this won't work in Canada... moreMatthew,

If you get an "unlocked" version, and as long as your Canadian
Wireless provider's equipment [cell phones] use "SIM" chips then you
can buy this and use it on your provider's network. Just check the basic things, like does your provider support the Usual GSM frequencies:
850, 900, 1800, and 1900. Also what are the 3G frequncies of the G2 Touch (HTC Hero) versus what are those of the provider you want to use in Canada? They must have at least one 3G frequency in common !

Expansys are offering the Hero free on a £35 per month tarrif, and its unbranded. Looks like a better deal than the tmobile direct offer!

Have it from 2 days ago. great phone. the menu is wicked. the only problem I need to solve is to log to the apps market. I can use the browser, works great, but if I want to log in to my Gmail acc from the market menu, some server error appears. But besides esides that thingy, that I'll solve soon, it's a really good phone. I think the HTC Hero and the Palm Pre have chances to make some shadow over the Iphone.
