Always interesting to note the ongoing march of technology but professional photographers will always opt for dedicated phoographic equipment than a admittedly good camera module integrated into a mobile device. The Samsung Pixon i8920 is due out in the next few quarters with 3 x optical zoom so in 2010 it would appear that the move among manufacturers will be to incorporate optical zoom and better lenses on their devices. The megapixel war is unsustainable due to the issues of noise, etc. 12 megapixel modules really are at present the very limit.

Well done! This looks to be a really nice piece of kit! Im loving the high end mobile phone market at the minute, some amazing phones being released! Usually I upgrade as soon as a new high end phone comes out but this time im waiting. Im after the same camera spec as this phone (12mp with dedicated camera processor & 3x optical zoom) PLUS the ability to record in HD. All the other usuals would also be required 8/16gb memory, wi-fi, mp3, top of the range screen etc. Until then ill hold onto my INNOV8=D

[deleted post]I think sony should dump Sony Ericson (SE), and let the cybershot division to design the phone. maybe it would capture more market share.
