To my understanding there will be no Nokia branded phones until late 2016/2017. Would love an Android Nokia but for now I am happy with my Note 3.

I'm looking forward to this. Nokia phones are well-built but since wp apps aren't that robust yet, I didn't buy one except that one time with their Android x phones which weren't Google Android so it wasn't different much from wp. If this looks like their Lumia in real life, I'd be all over this.

If this is priced as cheap as the Asus Zenfone 5 or even Zenfone 5 Lite, this could be a better buy/option for me

I'm surprised that Microsoft didn't want to retain the Nokia brand on its devices. Surely that would be regarded as an asset?

According to the deal with Microsoft, Nokia is prohibited from making any smartphone that competes against Lumia.

Therefore, Nokia cannot make any smartphone.
