its Dual LED and the reason is nokia was looking at videos as well. xenon only gives good still shots, but LEDs have both video and still capability. further Battery on all xenon based nokia is low. another factor. also NEW LEDs have 70% more power in n86.TRUE !.

Anyone who has an n86 here try taking a picture of a fan at high speed. n82 will take a stopped picture of the fanblades while n86 can't

            Anything above 5mp is useless.
The unit doesn't come w/a Xenon which makes even moderately lit photos much better. It's ugly as hell. It looks cheap. It's a slider, so beware flex cable issues.

ok these dual power are bright like the nokia n82, but I recon they still should have put xenon in it, maybe they will pull out a nokia n86 2 with xenon, I think they will with the trend.....

n86 has best video record than all N-series i bought n-series phone from n70-n80-n93-n95-n95 8gb-n82-n96-n86 especially when low-light condition n86's 3rd gerenation led flash works very well

@ josh, it does not matter as these people will still think "xenon" is the only thin important on a camera.

But I can't blame them if they don't know how to fully utilize a camera with no flash or just LEDs. It is still something new and people who just point and shoot don't really care if a person's face is overexposed because of the xenon just as long as it's bright, it's okay.

Now people who hang around in photography forums and care more about the pictures than gadgets will know what to do.

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2009It'll never happen. I despair when people moan about camera... morejust let me tell you a little about xenon flash, xenon flash is there for a quick burst of light half a second to reduce motion blur.
know they have soft ware that does this in the nokia n86, in monitors every pexel count and can tell even when you of the object moves and ajust acordingly,
the power leds found on this device are so powerfull that it will suprise you and how far the drivers can boost the light power leds can really go bright like xenon its just that they use xenon flash for a quick burst of light,
I have done quite a bit of research on this......

It'll never happen. I despair when people moan about cameraphones. If people want a device that can take photos like a professional then they should buy a digital camera or an SLR. What people fail to grasp about the N86 is that it has a innovative dual LED, that has not been seen before.
