Android user always go for the spec, but BlackBerry OS10 doesn't need high end hardware to run because this OS is tailored to run with low spec hardware. Furthermore, BlackBerry are more suited productive people, not entertainments. I'm using Z30 for 2 years now and like it very much. It can run Android apps too. Battery can run up to 2 days & silky smooth OS navigation, lag free!

Apple also still use 2 cores cpu and 8MP camera but nobody bats an eye. BlackBerry still use 2 cores on its new phone and everybody loses their mind...what the f**k wrong with the people nowadays? Try a BlackBerry for a week and tell me your experiences. Android OS efficency are far behind BlackBerry OS10

i'm looking forward for my BB Z10 successor, my preference is:
Screen : max 4,5" screen, at min 355 ppi, i don't like the screen bigger than 4,5"
Hardware : 3 GB of RAM and 64-bit OS, 2 GB is still pretty good, actually. Quad-core? it would be better! but dual core krait on My BB Z10 still running smoothly.
Built quality : More premium build quality, and a cover for USB and HDMI port like on Sony Xperia Z3.
Software : BB OS 10.3.x, more headless app without sacrificing security matters.

Supremo, 25 Dec 2014Snapdragon S4? It doesn't deserve to called midrange. Its a Dual Core Krait. Not much different from Z10

My BlackBerry z30 runs much faster on two cores processor then my all old androids on four cores also os seems somehow more sophisticated then android. Staying with BlackBerry for a while for sure

also people nowdays check specs not os optimization if that was thing then windows phone would be no 1
android sells because of different specs to chose from
i can assure 1440p snapdragon 800 based blackberry will surely do better

acccha, 25 Dec 2014ohhh!!!then wat u want in high end dude!!!Nice question. Let see now.. A high end smartphone must have a 20 to I don't know maybe 30mp snapper and 16mp on the front with a dual led flash. 8GB of ram would be nice and a 3GHz hexa core processor. A super amoled display. 5.7 or 5.9 inch screen with a wooping bezel-less screen for watching great movies and pictures. a lot of motion sensors for future proof features. Just saying

In ho... morePast few days alone proves that some Chinese OEMs like Meizu, Coolpad via Micromax Yureka, Jiayu and also Asus are able to deliver sub $200 ARMv8/64 bit phones w/ decent specs. A typical BB are well over double that. So the argument that most Androids req specs just for sake of specs are inaccurate. The minimum hw in Android space are just getting better at lower price points.

Specs aren't everything true but there's a minimum line for better future proofing and OS' expandability. Since BB are heavily biz/enterprise aligned, I would think that there's already some emphasis placed on future 64 bit apps tailored for the goal.
