Samsung Galaxy Alpha may be discontinued by February

I paid 400 dollars on this device in october 2015
This is the first device that died so easily. No android 5.1.1, no security patch, no smart manager and gone from market. Thx samsung.
The best phones ever made. Galaxy alpha and note7 both are discontinued.

These days manufacturers live in their ivory towers expecting that within a month after release their stuff sells in huge quantities. It's completely unrealistic to expect any good figures after merely a few months. Sometimes it takes over a year for a product to created momentum. Sometimes products even get people's love after they're gone from "that market".
It's about time that companies target realistic expectations instead of walking in the clouds.

So Samsung discontinues their metallic alpha while apple discontinued their plastic 5c. Sounds right to me. They were selling well with their respective phones anyway.

Muthu, 30 Dec 2014I am not an ifanboy, but I can tell you 2 things. 1) No S... moreok but it's not like apple made the only phone with bad Batery or no micro SD an for the normal day to day user you don't need any more space and the Batery i can tell you is not as week as it seems on paper with normal use you can get even 2 Days on it...an in this smartphone world 2 days is quite ok

I'm currently 2d15h on my Z3C with 6h screen on time and 10% left. If I turn on ultra stamina mode it will last for one more day.

For me it was between the Galaxy Alpha and the Xperia Z3 Compact. The Alpha gave no reason why it was superior to the Z3c (maybe design but that's the preference of the user) with the Z3c being superior in all other departments.

carriers in my country had enough of Samsung forcing them to carry their products. Only Bell offered the Galaxy alpha that is super high priced. What the hell is Samsung Thinking? There is only 1 ios, and that is apple, but there are many androids, and the alpha did much less then a lot of it's competitors while charging a premium for a very nice feel, but plastic in the back, get this junk out of here.
