It isn't a new bug that came with 5.0.1, it was there since the first "stable" Lollipop release.

Not sure if this issue is isolated to just 5.0.1 version. My G3 is currently on 5.0 and RAM usage is shows this -

                  System: 1.1 GB
                  Apps: 726 MB
                  Free: 1.0 GB

And Google tells you flaunt your Android devices with the latest version of Android but when you find a bug, Google shuts its mouth.

AnonD-58835, 30 Dec 2014Thats the problem is releasing untested mobile OS very freq... moreThat's why clever people don't update their devices. Clever people wait several months before considering the update, so in that time, all the major bugs should be detected and fixed, and the incompatible apps got updates.

So that's why you should not update your phone immediately when the new Android version comes out. And don't forget that there are a lot of apps that are still not compatible with Android 5, (for example Vice City (look at the many negative english reviews on the Google Play page of this game)).

AnonD-329938, 30 Dec 2014on CM12 update i read about memory leak and CM said it fixe... moreMemory leaks are from the RAM.. You will need some app that keeps track of/logs free RAM to see a mem leak happening.. What you posted were the storage spaces..
Usually if the mem leak is present then you will have apps force closing etc which will be fixed only after a restart..

on CM12 update i read about memory leak and CM said it fixed but CM is not so trustable ! well on my OnePlus one ram case is so:
                                System: 280-358MB
                                Apps: 220-260MB
                                Free: 2.1-2.3 GB
where`s memory leak? or its just display numbers and memory leak happening and u can`t see it or?

Apple should sue Google for patent on 'Releasing buggy major upgrades'.. Though atleast apple fixes it faster than google..

that's why always wait a bit till you update, google and apple and ms all on purpose put out buggy software and make their own users test subjects, specially for google and apple for ms less probably due to them having larger firm and more workforce

I agree with some here that say they shouldn't regularly release updates to the OS without testing, and so quickly to as well. Even now Windows is following this ecosystem as well slowly.
