These devices have the MSM8916 which as far as I know does not support Carrier Aggregation on LTE - I think this could be a requirement for the some of the large US operators.

LOL. When I saw A3 on the news and checked the specs, I seriously expected the price of A3 to be just around 250 USD and A5 to be a little bit pricier but not over 300 USD. Specs wise, not a good investment for money IMHO.

Are you sure samsung would update A3/A5 to Lollipop? If not, how different they would be than Grand Prime (which would not be updated to lollipop by Samsung for sure)? Premium materials - Are you sure it was a successful experiment? It was not, which is why samsung is discontinuing alpha, right?

Man a bit too late only if it came out before Christmas 🎄 I just bought the iPhone 6. Too bad maybe two years from now when my contract is up. Samsung is the king!!! I love Samsung!!!!

Mailman, 31 Dec 2014Really? Name some, except Chinese companies. Few examples since you asked:
i. Samsung galaxy grand prime (selling at $250 in India) is better than A3 (except RAM 1.5GB in A3 vs 1GB in GGP).
2. Moto G 2nd Gen (selling at $210 in India) is better than A3 for much lesser price.
3. HTC Desire 820 (selling at $400 in India) is much better than A5 for $100 less
4. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo (selling at $375 in India) is much better than A5 for $125 less
If you see the above examples, Samsung themselves are selling better devices for lesser price. And I am talking about indian prices which will be higher for A3 and A5 than what is mentioned in this article. And all of the above examples came at the top of my head in an instant. Need more examples? I will dig further and let you know.

Found this info for anyone interested in which models work in the US (GSM Only). I live in the Bahamas so I have to constantly compare different models to make sure they're compatible, namely GSM850/1900, HSPA850, LTE700-17 (same as AT&T.)

Asus zenfone 6 has 6 inch 720p display, 13 MP camera with Pixel Master technology, Intel processor and under $300 price tag. There are a lot of other Chinese smartphones that have better specs and even lower prices than the Asus. Samsung is stupid for selling this phone (and other phones) that expensive when they are having a lot of competition from a lot of good Chinese manufacturers that have cost a lot of profit loss for them lately.
