17 August, 2009
During the weekend another photo of the highly rumored Nokia N97 mini showed up. But the story this time is much more eye catchy as along the still unannounced N97 mini there are a bunch of other...

I hv seen fake Nokia 5900 before. My friend bought frm China and it stopped working within a few days. It's a touch screen phone and no wonder mistaken with real Nokia if some body hv little knowledge abt mobile phones. The pics currently posted on the web is not so clear, so I cannot say it's the one I saw. I hv no doubt that they will make those fake phones cos there are even fake eggs in China. Anyway, it's really a welcome if 5800 is upgraded to 5mp camera comparable to N82.

if this phone is a true one then i have to say that,Nokia should shame of themselves.they r developing phone only with cheap casing, poor build quality,& just developing phones without a least hardware capability.they r releasing now n97mini,though n97 is a complete version,i really have doubt..........

In the picture shown, I don't see a difference in size between the N97 and the pone just behind it, or the so called "mini." Anyway, I may be mistaken! And in reply to BEAK below: The phone shown in cellengros website is different in some details, although it seems to be almost similar.

                        hi,
                        i don
lt think that nokia announce anything more in camera part because, they recently announced the N86 and it should sell for them, really i say! But other points are not too bad, exactly tha part with, 5900, and N900 with maemp or smth. But thr nokia N97 mini is moreossible way because new xseries and cseries(i think the white phone in theicture is related to this) are good ideas to release. But other look further to decide for nokia! This is because of economey crysis too! They can offer too much because they've suffered too.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2009It is a shame that the biggest phone manucfacturer does not... moreYes, I agree with you that capacitive screens are more sensitive, but look at resistive advantages over it:
1- More accurate, as in capacitive the over-sensitivity sometimes causes some accidental touches.
2- You can use it with whatever you happen to grab in your hands, stylus, pen, or even when you're wearing gloves. Capacitive don't do that.
3- Multi-touch now is not only for capacitive, now resistive also have multi-touch, and is the best multi-touch in the market now, the Stantum one.
4- The resistive technology uses 2 plates on top of the screen, which protects the original screen from damage when it falls down or something.
5- The sensitivity of the resistive now is not so far behind the capacitive, and it's very close to it.

So, if NOKIA used the Stantum touch screen, it would be the prefect touch screen.

the Nokia N97 mini is realy coming out. According to Finnish relatively reliamble sources. By their words Nokia rushed the mini by "leakin" it to the web. Before other manufacturer anounst their own mini... The article didnt say who was planin to release an "something"mini...
The N 97 mini is going to be announced on september 2nd. At germany on nokias annual event.
The major difference is going to be the display which is about 3" or slightly under. But all other capabiliys should be there...5mpx camera, wi-fi, the new N searies touch OS, etc.

It is a shame that the biggest phone manucfacturer does not have capacitive phone for their fans!

Capacitive screen glass make the screen bright and durable
                                much more sentive than resistive

don't née to press and drag
you just need to touch and swipe

Anybody who claims to leave a brand due to a screen not being capacitive, is being ridiculous, unless of course you're the Boy Genius. If the iPhone had a resistive, you'd all be for it. It's doubtful Nokia would ever go capacitive simply because there is a need for the accuracy of the resistive touchscreen. Look at some of the S60 games, and the way content appears in the web browser. Resistive touch allows you to pinpoint everytime where exactly you want to touch on the screen without having to zoom in. Capacitive is much more finger friendly but the entire UI has to be designed so that everything is big enough for you to be able to touch and I think that just wastes valuable UI space. I would love to see what RIM is up to with their hybrid resistive/capacitive screen they're working on. Finger friendliness, ability to use anything on the screen, and accuracy. That would be the ultimate.

If there is no capacitive phone announced at nokia world , that means nokia just care about the Asian market, not cate about the others
