And rooting is not that dangerous if you research and follow directions.

Have you seen what ios7 and 8 did to devices? Constant, bugs, crashes, and lags. And they have had to release updates constantly to try and fix it and usually made new bugs

Tha... moreAll of my Android phones and tablets so far have been rooted (basically for Titanium Backup), and I have had zero bricks. Including zero recoverable bricks/softbricks. Unless you go for obscure phones, the rooting process will be very simple and well tested.
Another point: Lollipop has fewer restrictions on SD access. And even on unrooted KK, the restrictions are not as annoying as I thought they would be, at least when the developers use the correct API.

Because of OS updates, I would definetely go for an iPhone. Unfortunately, I can not afford it, iPhones are ridiculously expensinve in my country. So, I have to stick to cheap Androids. Using 4.1.1 for a year and a half with no hope of getting an upgrade. :(

an... more... Just like every other release, am I right? Give it a couple more days and within a week you will be searching for a heap of bug fixes.
For me, since 5.0.2 I've had issues with wifi constantly disconnecting, losing touch responsiveness, random reboots, keyboard disappearing... It's nearly been a couple of weeks on my Nexus 7 2013. Frustrating.

This is disgusting news and Google needs to get its act together..If its due to all the carrier and branding then these need adressing because eventually it is going to end up in a BIG mess.
What happended to all Android phones been supported for 2 years? by the time Lollipop arrives on most devices they will be obselete.

Kit Kat rise is slow because of SD Card restrictions. Lollypop will be even slower because of even worse restrictions.
People who dont want to root their phones are simply staying with Jelly Bean. When people replace handsets they will get Lollypop wether they want it or not..IF they buy Android.
Google are trying to regain control of Android..but customers will not give up features they have been used to easily.

Rooted KitKat is as far as I go (Rooted for SD Card access..stupid Google).
Lollipop is riddled with bugs and even more features killed (eg no more Gallery..stupid Google)

The chart is not representative as most population in the world (China) who does not use Google Play Store, their data are not taken in.
