TheGraphics, 10 Jan 2015You don't have any knowledge of manufacture price and still... more$3 manufacturing cost ? ever been to Economic, commerce or Accounts classes ? What about other cost like Rent, wages, Control cost, patent royalty, taxes like import and export, margin for retailer, distributor and whole sellers . It don't come free or even cheap. If you feel its so cheap in Mobile manufacturing then how could the co. reports just 1.7% net profit ?

Motorola has the best supply chain in the world , as per forbes , do you think it comes free ? Will you not count labour, commision on sales for retailer, distributor, import and export taxes, packing , rent and all those servers that run for phone , those too carry a price . Fixed cost like these are unavoidable, thus with only very low margin such phone can be launched or with very low quality .

Clothes only cost less than $1 and sold for $100+ as branded. Cellphones, can be manufacture $3~6 with metals are more expensive in total cost and resell for like $100+. This is why they earned millions of dollars. You still think its a low margin. Maybe perhaps you should do your research first big mouth.

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2015This is plain playing aggressiveWhat is the point of selling product if there is no good margin ? At this price it is totally clear that there is thin or no margin and even possiblity of negative margin . Just to capture market and to become 1 no. in terms of sales is a wasted if there is no margin ? Do they think in long run all competitors shall dry up and they will charge at-there-wish price ? Do they think that Premium product Apple , Blackberry , Motorola users will switch to them and leave there loyal and prestigious brands ?

If they launch this phone wordwide they are going to gain such amount of market and money that it's insaine. Forgett nokia 101 most selling device when "now" almost everyone can afford smartphone. Nokia 215 cost 29 bucks and this is 65 it's just nuts.

This is just plain nuts! There is no competition whatsoever! There's not a single sub $100 phone out there that has hd screen, not even Chinese! Let alone LTE! And that is why Xiaomi went from a non-existent to the world's 3rd largest
smartphone distributor in just 4 years! And this year, they will rule the world. For sure.

Honestly, $65 for a decent entry level phone with a mid range spec is a great deal.
Even Samsung sell it's entry level Galaxy Young 2 and Galaxy V with rubbish specs, won't last long and at a higher price.

For USD65, this is simply crazy considering I bought a Nokia Asha 501 for USD85 barely a year and a half ago.
