5u5m1t, 16 Jan 2015If you want a flagship experience on a small device, you ha... moreBut then every year a phone must grow bigger because it's better. Hmm Sony or other company should set the maximum screen size to 4.7" for the compact series.

AnonD-11164, 16 Jan 2015They should really give up on the 20,7 mpx camera. It's not... moreYou are clearly confusing software algorithms with camera sensor! Presume you are aware that Sony provides the sensors for most manufacturers.

The camera is great in any case and a software update should sort any issues!

The Z Ultra is easy to handle, I'm a small chap with small hands and I have no problem holding it in one hand. Too many people moan for no reason.

awesome, but one is too small and one is too big, they could make a phone between 5"-5.2"

AnonD-26314, 16 Jan 2015My Z3 is barely 3 months old. Is this a joke?Z3 is still brand new. Z4 hasn't even announced yet, don't worry.
As usual gsm rush on to release news and tag future phones with wrong specifications.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2015Sony is like driving a Mercedes, you have to own one to app... moreDon't make me laugh. Audio quality above all others? Sure, if you call intermittent music dropouts "quality"... The sony forums are full of it. I myself had the issue on an E3, two M2, and two Z1C - and it's a firmware problem, because the M2 didn't have it on 4.3.

The so-called water resistance is a joke - should it fail, you're on your own. And it will fail if you look at this perfect build quality: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19330332/z1cbuildquality.jpg
(remove any dashes popping up in the link, no idea where they come from)

I had this gap one time on the top as in the linked pic, and on each side on the replacement unit. Pressing on the plastic frame closed the gap - I don't want to know what happens if water gets in.

                So let's sum up:
                - they screw up perfectly working devices with updates because they're unable to transfer firmware settings
                - they apparently don't give a damn about quality control once the device isn't a flagship anymore
                - they quite obviously don't give a damn about their non-flagship devices, as the issues on the E3 and M2 are still not fixed

If that's how driving a Mercedes is, I respectfully decline. I prefer a Mazda myself.

Z4 Ultra will be mine! My original Z Ultra is doing fine, but I'm hoping they've made the phone a bit smaller but kept the screen size. Can't go back to a smaller screen.

They should really give up on the 20,7 mpx camera. It's not good compared to the competition. Maybe just better than the m8, but the rest of the flagships are much better.

The Z3C is pretty good as it is, I am really happy with it. The display could be a bit better (not higher resolution - better viewing angles, lower minimum brightness).

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2015top phone opposite of truth sony is no where to be seen on ... moreSony is like driving a Mercedes, you have to own one to appreciate it. Water proof design comes standard, the audio quality is way above the rest, built quality is miles ahead of Samsung, even iPhones use sony carema sensors. Toyota obviously makes more profit and outsells Mercedes by far but that dont mean Toyota is better. Its a marketing game that misleads many, you need to own both phones to really tell the difference and not listen to all these biased marketing reviews all over the Internet

If you want a flagship experience on a small device, you have three options; Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Samsung Galaxy Alpha and the iPhone 6. Hope Sony keep the Compact series going.

                                        A good news to me.

I've been using the original XPeria Z Ultra, which I love for its big screen, thinness and waterproof. For a frequent hiking guy like me, these properties (big map, light to carry, ready for storm) turned out to be extremely useful in mountains.

And now finally there is an upgrade for the Ultra model.
