I checked with HTC support and they stated that the M8 users must start receiving the update since 21 Jan 2015, post if the update is not reflecting even after checking manually, he advised that I should take it to the service center for the update or must wait for about 45 days to get the automatic update. Please check from your end if you get a similar response

That might be a reason because it's buggy. About the long waits, that is true, but only for phones that not have stock android, otherwise the updates are every year(like IOS). IOS is a very good OS too, but for me for example it is more important to be able to customize, and do whatever I want (that include installing custom ROMS) and that's a major PLUS. IOS does not give me the freedom that ANDROID gives me.

A lot of you complains about not getting lollipop, even that HTC has Android Lollipop from november... One simple question... does anyone of you know what suppose to modify an operating system, or even making a software application? I think the reasons behind the delay are justified. It will come sooner or letter. If you don't like to wait, go buy a GPE or a nexus device.

i stay in Malaysia and i got my M8 updated to Lollipop.. I feel the new os is draining the battery quite alot compared to 4.4.4... yesterday i had my M8 at 100 percent around 12:30am and woke up at around 6:30AM with 96 percent left without anything running and i was even on extreme power saving mode. when i checked the battery usage, Android OS and Android System is the only 2 in the list. And if I have the phone on standby without apps running, the battery will drain around 1 percent in every 10 - 20 mins.. it got me quite worried as i need to monitor the battery now and then for unwanted drains..

i would advise those who have not update to 5.0 to not update mainly because there is not much of a change for now, Just minimal UI changes and animation improvements, no significant speed increase or whatsoever. I feel 4.4.4 is event better in terms of speed and battery performance.

Hopefully there is a fix to this problem by HTC, not only me but alot of other users are having heating issues and many others different issues with their phone after the update.

                                        Two possibilities :-
                                        1) The updated handsets might be facing some issues coz of which htc had to stop the OTA and rectify those bugs.
                                        2) HTC is really dull.

I personally feel (1) might be the reason for the current situation... There's no point in giving the update to some regions sooner than the others. Coz HTC has been striving to gain customers and maintain them.

I'm from India. No update yet.

Hey HTC Lollipopians, have you found any bugs or issues in your phones? Do share them if you have! We are curious.
