Appleman, 20 Jan 2015why dont Samsung just optimise the software like apple. 1gb... moreSamsung does optimize their software well. The note 4 beats the iphpne 6 in speed tests.
And ram is also for multi tasking which Samsung are leaders in.
And if Samsung were to optimize like apple then that would mean all they do is take away all the smart phone features and call it "optimization" so it runs just a little smoother. That and it would crash all the time.... though probably still not as much since they have more ram.... and all their updates would have horrible bugs and make the phone rings worse and worse every year.

THABKFULLY Samsung actually knows how to develops and optimize all that software even including all those features.

What looks dated to you; looks fresh to someone else.

Agreed that they would have been copying design ques. Everyone does that these days.

All I want from Samsung this time around is a refined design; not that they make bad devices, I personally like the displays and performance of the galaxy s series but not the design. Its not bad but it seemed to be a bigger version of the previous one all the time.

Just remove the bloat in their touchwiz, even if they put tons lnto it but te software is unoptimized it will still lag.

harlekkin, 20 Jan 2015How is iOS a dated OS?! You may call it restricted, but by ... moreHow is dated dated? I hope you are joking about lacking the brain capacity to be able to answer that.

Ios and I phones to this day are still behind even 10 year old flip phones in a few ways. And that's only from slowly changing over the years of having multiple aspects lacking compared to those old flip phones.

Android heavy? Especially now a days?
                                Ios specifically optimized? Lmfao.
That's why it has continually has the massive world lead in app crashes every single year?
That's why the ios 5,7, and 8 updates were competent bug ridden crashing updates that drove millions insane?
That's why "speaking of heavy" ios 7 and 8 got much heavier system weight while barely adding anything to show for it. And why I phones 4, 4s, and 5 ended up lagging a lot on them while also continuing with ios's world famous crashes. Why even the 5s gained some more lags. And even the 6 and 6 plus still love to crash.

and why they basically had to release a new update to "fix" it every month and half the time made it worse.

So are you just lying or have you never used either os?

S-Beam and eye-scroll that nobody uses? Anonymous, 20 Jan 2015S6 non-removable battery + glass back is really disappointing! What, because you finally realise that Samsung isn't about pleasing the geeks in their every request? That removable batteries are perhaps more of a liability than a blessing?

There's a reason for everything my friend, it just takes some companies longer than others to catch on.

AnonD-121494, 20 Jan 2015Ah, the idiots stuck on the lag talk. The only reason iOS i... moreHow is iOS a dated OS?! You may call it restricted, but by no means is it "dated".

Android is over-engineered and heavy, iOS is specifically optimised for a handful of device types. That's the difference that allows it to run more on less.

Android follows Windows Desktop by being one OS for all devices, which has its pro's and con's - one con being that you can only throw more hardware at it in the hope that it'll run better for longer.

About time you started looking at reality.
