AnonD-110047, 21 Jan 2015Not agree, we have an example of Apple iPhone, one for everyone. Did you not read what he said or were your Apple glasses blocking words out?? One of the key issues mentioned was about non-removable battery and last time i checked the iphone didn't have this?? Therefore your argument just flopped

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2015Nope... That's what you need. You can't really have it all.... moreBut of course we can't have it - all phones must be crappy enough to make us replace them soon enough with more crappy phones.
A flagship needs to be perfect with no weak points, or it's a scam. Just like non-removable battery is also a scam. They really desperately want us to replace our phones every yar. But if we do, then why spending tons of money on flagships? That's why crappy phones like Xiaomi are so popular. At least they are cheaper than the other crappy phones

Wow, the water resistance and finger sensor were the biggest improvements of the S5. They better make it look good instead.

More typical modern day logic. "Our sales are dropping? No problem, we'll make crappier phones to fix that problem".
To be honest i personally prefen non-water resistant (Less heating, more sound from he speaker), but i know few people do.

Thank goodness! I really don’t like the flap cover over the charger hole to protect it against water and dust... As mine broke off on my Samsung galaxy s5!!

Let’s just hope that Samsung isn’t going with the glass back idea, and make it metal

This is where Motorola water splash resistant it is important. Even in lower phone $150 cost Moto E does resist to water. This missing features will cost them much.

Finally. It was a bad decision to begin with. The slim bezels of S4 gave their place to the chunky ones of S5 (because of water proofing)

S5 was truly a step backwards (worse ppi, worse screen to body ratio, unimpressive soc, etc)

If this means ultra slim bezels and snappier looks then yes to Samsung

I don't understand why you guys care so much about water resistance, if you get your phone wet it's your own fault. Not buying a phone due to the lack of this feature is just nonsensical.

At this point in time, the focus on the development teams should be battery efficiency with the software. Water resistance, dust resistance should be much lower on their priority list.

Samsung - are loosing the point??

                                        People need

                                        1) IP certified phones as it is their main device and expect it to be robust
                                        2) Dual SIM
                                        3) Great battery
                                        4) Screen shatter resistant so gorilla glass 4

                                        Ignore this at your peril.

Sony - looks like you have a good chance to make your phone division profitable.
