24 August, 2009
Strictly speaking GSMArena.com is not the place to source information about netbooks or laptops. But when the world's leading mobile phone manufacturer decided to debut their own netbook product we just couldn't...

iolo003, 24 Aug 2009now i can junk my old gateway laptop and move on to this no... moreSteady on my laptops gateway and served me well for 2 years..I dont know what to say in that nokia are seeming to bring out one thing thats seems to criple its other offerings,i.e. the e series is nearly n-series,,this new n900 is like the way to go and then they start to bring out mini netbooks..OK they may need to diversify for profit but not right next door to its other offerings..WHats symbian 4 ,,i thought they had dumped symbian???

            i just don't get this.
The company which has been trying for so long to make computers and laptops obsolete by making n series; why are they making laptops themselves?
Have they lost their confidence in market leading capabilities? I don't think Nokia should do this. I don't use my pc at home from they day i have my e75. Then why would i buy a laptop? Just doesn't make any sense!
It's just like nokia almost managed to kill a monster but now trying to resurrect it! N900 should be the way to go, not a netbook. And btw netbook and laptop's competition is way fierecer than smartphone business. I just hope nokia doesn't degrade their cellphones quality by being distracted in two different market! And as samsung is almost on the corner to topple them over nokia does this! U guys tell me if it's wise or not?

i hope it's not much expenssive than the mini-notebooks in the market, if it's up to 600$ it would do ok, but then this will make it cheaper than n97 so i doubt that!

Some might think as if Nokia is the only one who has come up with this. If GSMarea decided to bring these news as well, then it's a good move. But lets bring them all not just Nokia.

Cause with a built in 3G and GPS is actually makes it a cellphone, at least here in Sweden. I don't know about where u live but here i can make normal phone calls on a PC using the 3G connection, all i need is a headset with mic and a dialling program which almost look like the Iphone dialling and contacts interface.

So for us in Sweden, this is super advanced phone.

This one is Made by QUANTA.
Another SmartBook (something in between smartphone and netbook) is coming up from Nokia which will be made by Compel Electronics based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor.

Sony Ericsson is rumored to be working on their SmartBook as well.
