[deleted post]Man, you should have done your research before you piss on someone.
Maemo 5 aka Fremantle, has been around for quite some time now, and as you DON'T know it's open source, and there's even a build environment with an emulator, where you can see how thing will look on the device, even if the device itself doesn't even exist!

The phone only ran on 434Mhz, while the 5630 and 6710 ran on 600 and they were HARDLY made for games (while they could both run N-Gage Gaming Suite). Plus the Mini doesn't have the alleged "gaming D-pad" (mostly because it's smaller, but can run games faster).

Hopefully the N900 will pull it's weight, in terms of Maemo's beautiful interface, at Nokia World.

So it isn't safe to say that it is for gaming. N97 isn't made for gaming, only for browsing. And what's with the 32gig mem when it hangs when about 15gig-filled? Just don't get it. I wish Nokia had more, just a bit more effort in N97 to make it a real pleasure to use, transitions are so boring unlike some touch non-smartphones from Samsung or even LG. Probably due to the lack of graphics acceleration and a subpar processor.

and theirs another surprise! a touchscreen E-Series phone coming out next week on Nokia world! wow, this is getting crazier every minute!! i predict it will be a qwerty slider phone with aluminum case among the other trademarks of E-Series devices.

Nokia is damn serious in taking back their market share on smartphones!

whew.. N97 MINI, would you buy a phone similar to a prototype but miniturized (almost same applications)? Just a couple of upgrades would do for the N97 and would have made it the total smart phone package. For me this (N97 mini) product still 2nd only to apple's Iphone 3g and 3gs.

I don't understand why ppl complaint about 'why the d-pad located on the left'. Last I remember on the PS or Xbox Controller, their Dpad is ALWAY located on the left. D-pad on the left is not made for left hand ppl, it is made for gaming.

If there is no comparison then why bring that up in the first place? If Nokia were to "learn from HTC" and make their own 5-row keyboard phone, I'm pretty sure thousands of SE and Samsung fanboys would ooze out the woodwork saying "Nokia copies again, Nokia copied from another company". The reason why it's a 3-row keyboard on both is because the N97 Mini's purpose is to be...well..MINI. Who the hell puts a big 5-row keyboard on a phone they want to be smaller than their previous work (and don't tell me the TP2 is the same size because I went over the specs of THAT too. The Mini is smaller, and the N97 is bigger)? As for the N900, a 5-way keyboard would be too big for it's size. And btw, both phones are touchscreen (onboard keyboard much?). If you like you like 5-row keyboards, good for you. Don't go bashing Nokia for not having it (it's only a keyboard btw, it's not like people don't know how to use the Sym button on most 3-row keyboards in the first place..)

I knew I heard footsteps, just didn't expect it not to be Apple first...

3 row keyboard = fail. Learn from HTC, Nokia. Touch Pro 2 = 5 rows including a dedicated number row. There's just no comparing.
