The simple reason is that most Android users actually prefer Android to iOS.
For me, iOS would have to change completely and open up before I would even think of buying an iPhone.
So, if Samsung started to use iOS instead (if that was possible ;) ), I'd just go to LG or HTC,...

Truly impressive, even if Apple sold less than Samsung its mindboggling considered how many Samsungs socalled smartphones that are sold are stretching the term "smartphone" to the extremes, and that the cheapest iPhone cost considerably more than midrange Samsungs like Grand 2.
Anyway, we are at point of crossing graphs now, the trend has shown it for a while, Samsung is on the way down and Apple on the way up. I truly hope that a big part of Samsungs fall is due to the region lock disaster, the deceptive way it was introduced and the lies that followed marked a historic lowlife point in arrogance and mistreatment of customers for any company ever.

Remember, Samsung has competition from HTC, Sony, LG plus all those non-Western companies like Huawei, Oppo etc. Apple has no competition as it's the only manufacturer using iOS. Imagine what would happen if Samsung started releasing iOS phones at Samsung prices, I imagine Apple would be in serious trouble.
