This is a luxury phone. It's for people who have money to spend on just to show off.
It's not for the average person or phone "geek".
Seriously, people at SE aren't noobs. They've been around for sometime now and they know there's a market, albeit a small one, for this kind of phone.
You don't like it, so be it. I don't like it as well. But it's not designed to beat other phones in terms of features, it's simply to show off. I don't know what you're expecting, but besides the screen it won't bring about a revolution in terms of features.

some 12year ago, ive seen a transparent lcd display at my college library.
Back then, it is used to display computer desktop by putting the lcd on top of transparent sheet projector.
so, transparent color lcd has been here for quite sometime. glad to see it came to cellphone.

The people that will but this phone are not the category reading on the web about the latest phones. All you guys that say it won't sell; have you ever even tried to think from other peoples perspectives?
Of course this won't match iphone or high tech phones. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO DO SO!
It will sell, but of course within a small category of people. -and that is the meaning for this product.
If you like iphone, look at the Rachael, if you want the best camera phone look at the Satio, if you want the best in connectivity and multimedia look at the Aino.
And of course, if you want the lastest fashion phone, go for the Xperia Pureness.
Now thats a portfolio!

SE only good in Japanese Market. in Japanese Market SE use Symbian MOAP with very good features. SE for Global market is SUCK

Two opinions each for the pros and the cons :
Pros : it's a refreshing thing from SE,when other companies racing w/ the QWERTY or touchscreen phone,SE came up with a new idea & new experience in mobile phones,in the past they've showed us as an innovator w/some of their invention is widely used by most of mobile phones nowadays eg: Bluetooth,congratulation SE you're still a survivor,since you're not down that deep as anyone thought,or even some who hope it happened
Cons : while SE succeeded in proofing themselves as innovator that doesn't make them save in the tense battle of mobile phone arena,because it would take times to implement the new tech.to be acceptable in the market,and while the development is being done sometimes followers might show up and show us how things should've be done by innovator,and that's when the true champ.is crowned by the market & users eg : iPhone.
That's all what i had in my mind,new tech.is good but takes times to be accepted by all,let's not forget one thing : new tech.usually start with unbelievable overpriced price,i'm not a skeptical person but i won't be optimist w/the price when this phone is launched that it will be pocket friendly to everyone.

It's a nice thing to know there is a phone with that kind of screen that exists, but it's ugly to look at, it's thick, it's not colored display and the characters on the display is hardly seen since it's transparent, what's event the use of it?
I'd say it's a dud.

Launching an over priced black and white screen bar is not what the company must do to strengthen its position in the market. Only lunatics with too much wealth would entertain buying this pointless device. Big deal if the screen is semi See through? How does that improve advancement in mobile computing, connectivity and multimedia. What on earth are SE doing?

If your a hater of the Pureness and SE...why did you spend your time reading this article and all others GSMARENA recently put out on them? Clearly because their newest work is enticing and captivating...not to mention brilliant...you may dislike...but at least youve seen it, at least you feel something. So SE thanks the haters, cause they talk bout it, bad as it may be...still word of mouth and still out there...keep up the good work guys.In the end were helping Sony...sooo if your a real hater...just dont look into it.
