This phone is mostly for developers and for those who want to know the linux platform...my suggestion dont go for it a lot of things need to get fixed in the os and its missing many features and the videos jus lag behind the sound and to honestly tell you its not that fast!! so once again if you are really excited to know the os then go for it if you are regular user this phone's just not for you...believe me!! and just that i see these comments around yes android is built on linux!

sourav , 09 Feb 2015Will it run all apps which are available on Linux (PC vers... moreNot yet.

Canonical and its developers are working on "Mir" - in layman's terms, the stuff in the background that puts everything on-screen - and when it is finished, most (if not all) applications, programs and games for Ubuntu (the PC version, that is) should run on Ubuntu Phone... And vice versa.

"Mir" is not expected to be integrated into Ubuntu for PCs until April 2016... A bit of a wait, but with BIG results as most - if not all - "traditional" software should be able to run on Ubuntu Phone.

rrr, 09 Feb 2015did somebody know a tutorial how to install ubuntu on phoneFor development purposes, there were community-built and operated images (installations) of what was then known as Ubuntu Touch here:
                                https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices

However, these were exclusively for the purpose of testing what would eventually become "Ubuntu Phone", so depending on your smartphone, some functionality may not work in part or at all - this includes calling and messaging.

With the launch of Ubuntu Phone this week, all (official) support for these community images (installations) is discontinued - in English, you will get no help if something doesn't work or your "break" your smartphone (figuratively speaking)...

If you want Ubuntu Phone, you're going to need to look at a dedicated device - such as the Aqarius 4.5 Ubuntu Phone Edition or the upcoming Meizu smartphone - which has an optimized version of Ubuntu Phone pre-installed.

No information has yet been released about installing Ubuntu Phone on other devices with official support, though my personal opinion is that it is unlikely you will see this anytime soon, due to various factors...

nsinhhh, 09 Feb 2015is dual boot available ???This will be single-boot, however you will be able to choose one of two different versions:
                                  * Aqarius 4.5 (running Android, already available).
                                  * Aqarius 4.5 Ubuntu Phone Edition (running Ubuntu Phone, obviously).

Whether or not you could change one version to the other has not yet been announced by Bq, but in theory, it is possible (the hardware is identical between the two in every way), so it will be interesting to see if Bq actually permit this, especially considering a lot of existing Aqarius 4.5 users will want to change to Aqarius 4.5 Ubuntu Phone Edition...

HB, 09 Feb 2015It's not "available today". It's not going to be.... moreCalling the article a "lie" is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration - it was always claimed that the Aqarius 4.5 Ubuntu Phone Edition would be on sale this week, and some sources were claiming Monday.

Bq themselves have confirmed on Twitter that it will be this week, but the exact day/time is not public knowledge as yet...

What has been confirmed is that the initial sales will be conducted via a series of surprise "flash sales", wherein users must answer a series of questions relating to Ubuntu Phone before they are permitted to purchase the Aqarius 4.5 Ubuntu Phone Edition, for the purpose of "testing their knowledge on the goals of Ubuntu Phone":
                                    http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2015/02/bq-ubuntu-phone-goes-sale-next-week-e169-meizu-device-coming-soon

The announcement of when these "flash sales" are open will be made via Bq's Google+, Twitter and Facebook profiles.

Most of people don't give... moreThese "bezels bullsh**" it is thin line between one-handed useability or not. In that case is it quite small screen that would be very hard to use one hand. Personally I will not chose it over for example HTC One (M7) which is same size and has 0,2 inch bigger display, and is now 2 years old...

Size (of bezels) does metter :D
