To all those who are bashing me about using an antique S3 from 2012, get this. Moto E is not even the flagship device of the company and has inferior specs than S3. Still it's getting Lollipop update.
You are the kind of morons who have made these companies to make the people throw out their devices after just a couple of years of use. S3 still is a solid performer and with a toned down touchwiz with lollipop can perform way better than lot of phones these days too. I'm also a samsung fan and have been defending samsung for lot of it's mistakes but it needs to respect its 40 million S3 users too. 40 million users is not a small deal. Their wrong strategies are the main reason why most of their customer base is shifting to lot of other companies such as Moto, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo and even apple.

the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is rolling out to limited Moto E and Moto Maxx users who are under the company's soak test. The Lenovo-owned company confirmed soak test for the Moto Maxx in Brazil and Mexico had begun, as well as the soak test for the Moto E in Brazil and India.

"Both Moto G generations have already received the update"

No, they haven't. My Moto G 4G still isn't updated, and by the looks of it, Apple will release iOS 9 before I even get Lollipop.

"Soak test over, now the Motorola Moto E is getting Lollipop for real. ...
Motorola hasn’t opened the floodgates though, the updates are continuing to roll out slowly to small test groups at first."

                                That doesn't even make sense.

Plus, my Moto G will happily disagree with the assertion that they've all got Lollipop already.
Motorola dropped the ball big time. They promised updates for all these devices till the end of 2014.
