iPhone average selling price is $650 android average selling price is around $200

Do the math, sales volume doesnt mean anything if the device price is low like it is with 70% of android phones.

If all the android phones which have been sold would have been galaxy S5, android would have made a lot profit, lot more than Apple, not that dificult to understand? ;)

It means that Apple is overusing their fans' budget.

Android is for those who wants to take their features and show them to the people who owns iphones, thats all, because nothing else is usefull there.

It simple for Apple. Design two phones and add few functionalists(unlike other's who spend more on it). Market those functionality(as if they are new to earth) and make people to wait(for a year). Finally Q4 is Apple quarter always. People who think about value for money goes for Android or Windows and Apple for people who want to showcase that they own IPhone. I like Iphone(like many people here) but not stupid enough to spend money to showcase that I own it where as I can get same spec/Functionality in Android/Windows with 25% of Iphone cost.

I wonder how they measure these operating profits... To me it seems like comparing apples and oranges. When I buy an iPhone I'm not only buying a piece of hardware but all the services attached to it (iOS integration, Apple services like iCloud and Apple Pay etc). I imagine that Android phone users do the same and they get the whole package, purchasing both the product (done by the phone maker) and the services attached to it (done mostly by Google). I wonder if by "smartphone profits" they are measuring Apple vs Samsung/HTC/Sony etc or Apple vs Goolge+the phone makers. I do know that Apple has high profit margins and they really know how to market their products and services, but capturing 90% of world profits is a bit too much...

Massive high res screen not just some 2011outdated design with a modern chipset in it! And yes it is expensive but we don't have to pay through the nose for a droid like that.. There are many other better value options for us droid users... But iPhone users don't have that option... Where is a cheap iPhone.. Even the 5c is/was a ridiculous price.. It cost more than my nexus 5 on release lol!

If apple sells its iphones for less price, then NO ONE will buy other devices. Therefor they having piety on those devices.

And they say smart people have iPhones... So smart they kept ripped off on the price.. Android is more about the user.. Apple is all about what they allow you to do and taking all your hard earned money and giving it to their execs!

It's simple make a phone and sell it 5x build cost or even more so more profit. People have to realize that apple is fooling them.

So basically Apple spends ~$200 to make a phone that will cost ~$800, and an Android OEM will spend ~$180 to sell a phone that will cost ~$400. Even if Apple makes more profit because of a better strategy, the biggest loser remains the iPhone buyer... #JustSaying
