wonder what the new brand would be named after, hmm :S...i remember how sony bought ericsson & called themselves sony ericsson...so following that same manner nokia might call themselves "nokia palm" :S...sounds corny though...

Wow, that would be great if it comes true. WebOS on new nokia touch phones will be a million times better than that awful Series60 V5 (Symbian).

It can only be better for Palm especially seeing how undurable their devices are. At least if they get with Nokia, Nokia can help them make phones that won't break after 2 months. Nokia RULES!!!!

Damn nokia sure know sleek when they see it the latest pixie as far as i know is the first BB device with touch this got me interested it's combines the best of two worlds and i just know the other companies wil follow just imagine a Nokia E73 with that OS and combine with the E series build quility...

Nokia should do this and put the a Palm WebOS in the next generation E-series devices like "hopefully" E73 or something after E72. That would be a killer phone. And let N-series handle the Maemo 5. Then Nokia will be a true giant in all ways possible in the handset business.

This makes all sense, since as said above, Palm is a troubled company with a great product and Nokia is a giant and relatively healthy company with a good, but unfinished product (say S60v5 interface). Potentially true rumour, I think.

This makes perfect sense because a while back, Nokia and PSION (makers of the most brilliant and intuitive mobile devices ever) began work on a next generation mobile platform (a blend of Symbian and PSION's OS) - that I believe may have lead to Maemo - as used in the new N900.
(The venture failed, which left PSION without any connected devices, so they fizzled away, sadly, leaving Apple to take the initiative on usability.)
Palm share the outstanding usability and data integration skills (better than Apple IMHO) that PSION understood decades ago, but their hardware is a bit flaky. Nokia can deliver on great industrial design and hardware (see the E71/72/52 etc) but are a bit confused with their OS usability, so this is a great fit!
Nokia need a new mobile OS to counter Apple, Android and WinMo, and by blending WebOS and Maemo, they can launch some nice devices in 2010/2011. And America needs an all new America friendly Nokia, so who better to work with than Palm?
