I'm not exactly blown away by the M9, but HTC could be on to a winner if they substantially undercut the s6 and iPhone 6. That's the only way I can see the M9 being successful, it's just enough of an improvement to warrant a hefty price tag.

Matthew, 01 Mar 2015Thats all fair and well, but I think in the world of Androi... moreI do agree on that. Though to compare it to the S6 display even if it was QHD is still unfair LOL.
Nothing can touch the QHD Amoled's of Samsung right now....Objectively that is. Preference is another story...I still like the glow of LCDs.

The overly complicated crafting, lack of OIS, and lesser advancing in display are draw backs.

Definitely should wait until every detail of the device is known before making final calls though.

I really hope they are not just talking hype about the speaker improvement. Hopefully a much bigger jump from the M8's then they were from the M7. Cause neither are really that much better than what has already been available for years.

And aside for no OIS the sensor seems promising.

HTC has $$$$ issues, not easy to do a new design, which means a new fabrication process "new machinery", so they stayed with the same design "cost efficiency", added a REAL camera to the rear of the phone and moved that Ultra Pixel disaster to the front, and while all other smartphone manufacturers are going with 2K displays on their flagship phones, HTC decided to keep the same resolution screen to to probably having so much extra stock left over from the M8 disaster. The only difference in this phone is the new 810 chip from Qualcomm and the 20 MP camera in the rear.

Great specs but what a disappointment on the design side. Why didn't they adjust the look even a little bit? HTC had a great opportunity to get rid of that useless black HTC logo band and increase screen size a bit. What a waste.

Stale stale stale same old rejected by many M8 face. Are u kidding me...black logo bar again????? To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Yes there is improvement in the camera, chip set, sound of BoomSound speskers and other internal...but what I see when I look at the face of the device is the M8 all over again.
What happened to the M9 plus/Ace???? Sorry if this is all we got...painfully i will pass again.
You mean to say their design team took a whole year of hard work to bring us the same looking device??? I mean after with all the complains so many had with the black logo bar??? Speechless.

The new design colour schemes look exquisite. HTC was wise not to make too radical a departure from the M8 given the latter's success. The M9 is clearly an appealing evolution from the M8 which will I am sure appeal to owners of other devices.

AnonD-365011, 01 Mar 2015Actually M9 has not too bad design... But not so much im... moreIt isn't a bad design by any means. But look at it compared to M8. What's different?

Samsung will be completely new and fresh this year. This will appeal to consumers and given the qhd panel HTC will struggle.

Where is the fingerprint scanner where are the reduced bezels where is the qhd where is the phablet too.

This is possibly the most underwhelming htc to date. They aren't Sony they don't do 6 month upgrades. There are no excuses here

very disappointed htc. this could have been so much more. horrible bezels still on the front just to sport the logo after all the complaints made about the m8 bezel, its just copied. boomsound speakers should have been hidden in the frame ala the htc desire eye. OIS on the camera is a must these days with competitors like samsung and lg both having OIS cameras. lots more things that i could mention aswell tbh but i shall wait for the s6 announcement later today now.
