No Jailbreak necessary for phones bought in India as they are contract free. But check the device's compatible frequencies especially the 4G bands with the provider's in your country. Phones which work in India might not work in other countries

ALSO, the Moto Maxx (XT1250) is being sold in the U.S. by smaller regional CDMA/LTE carriers. NOT MVNOs. Actual carriers with their own spectrum/towers. It is IDENTICAL to the Verizon Droid Turbo XT1254. Even has the same FCC ID number. Same CDMA/GMS/HSPA/LTE bands as the Droid Turbo.

Bootloader can be unlocked and phone rooted. Someone has run one of these U.S. Moto Maxx phones on Verizon by sticking in Verizon LTE sim card.

So, there's THREE Motorola QUARK phones released so far. "Quark" was the internal name, and ALL these phones have the same hardware:

                      * XT1254 DROID TURBO (falsely bleated by the media as a "Verizon exclusive". Only the Droid name is exclusive to Verizon, not the phone!)

                      * XT1250 MOTO MAXX (U.S. non-Verizon CDMA/LTE Quark phone, identical in hardware to Droid Turbo. Currently sold by at least half a dozen, maybe more, regional CDMA/LTE carriers. It is identical in every way to the Droid Turbo except for carrier-specific software. At least one person in XDA has run it on Verizon.)

                      * XT1125 MOTO MAXX ("International" GSM/HSPA/LTE version of the XT1250 Moto Maxx/XT1254 Droid Turbo. Has no CDMA and slightly different LTE bands. Motorola "official" specs say LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7, 17, but modem scanning software shows LTE band 5 is still enabled like it was when this phone passed FCC testing. Yes, it went through the FCC because it's sold in Puerto Rico, U.S. territory. Has a different FCC ID from the XT1250/XT1254. So, YES, it has all the AT&T LTE bands. I own two of these phones, and am running one on AT&T. Also, Lollipop has been leaked for this phone, but it's only a test version from Motorola.)

Now a 4th "QUARK" phone, for India...

                      * MOTO TURBO? Model number, LTE bands not known yet. Could be same as the XT1225...

This is because "Maxx" is name of a mobile company here in India. So that would indicate some collaboration between Moto and Maxx, which isn't true :P

This phone was launched a week after the Nexus 6 was released. Snapdragon 810 wasn't available at that time. Hence, Snapdragon 805 was used and this chip is great.

Motorola was so stupid and blind to release this device in only USA / Brazil. Now, they are more stupid to sell this beast in a price consicous market like INDIA. They should have sold it in EMEA and APAC in first place.

What a stupid company with stupid managers. They need to go out of business.

All specs are supreme except CPU. I can't understand the harmony of QHD display, awesome battery and SC 805. While with this specs they must use SC 810 instead

Appreciate Motorola's effort, but the 4G bands are not supported in India.
In India, ONLY TD LTE on 2300 Mhz band will run.

Although efforts are being made to run 1800 Mhz in future, but that's no guarantee.
