Anonymous, 10 Mar 2015Lollipop is vista for google 5 months pass market share le... morefirst: a pc os is up to users to upgrade but a smartphone os is up to OEMs. so there is a big difference when users don't want to upgrade vs they can't upgrade.

second: as of some one that is using Lollipop from first day of launch I can say it is a lot better than previous versions and not a piece of crappy software like Vista.

third: why people buys iphone to be different but when it comes to android, they buy any shit powered by android an say it is Google fail. there are lots of smartphone out there that are updated to latest version of android (Nexus, Google play edition, motorola). why not buying one of those and see what does Support means ?!
even first generation of nexus 7 got Android 5.1 update today!

The only real experencie for me on Android updates was the Nexus 4/5, BUT many from AT&T, TMobile, Verizon and so on are really painfull any update, I get an Lumia 1520 and I receive every single update from WP8 to Demin and waiting for the W10 release, and in my wife S4 she stills waiting the LP, is not a wise idea to get a new phone every year for just an update...

                  - The Samsung devices you are mentioning are older than the lumia devices. So your comparison is faulty.

                  - Carriers are the main cause for slow updates, not the manufacturers. I buy all my handsets unlocked to avoid that problem and receive my updates faster than others.

So you know, there are still lumia's who don't have the latest updates due to carrier being too slow.

Count the other manufacturers like, Sony, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Alcatel, HTC, and many many more.

Motorola is the only that likes make real updates on mid-ranges, too bad Motorola isnt one of the best around and many people dont like Moto´s. And they like remove SD cards in many models and people also didnt like that....

Is just one against 100´s just the Note 3/S5 are getting very low speed on updates, and those are supposed to be "Flagships" also HTC M7/M8, Xperia T series, Huawei P series, LG G Pro/G2/G3 and the list goes on.....

Anonym, 10 Mar 2015Yes, the Lumias are very few (period). Tell us something new.Something New is that people who rely on Android need to expend only on Flaghship if they want to receive new updates, and that is just unfair for many many people considering the mid-range are the best sold ones....however people like to get a new phone every time Google launch a new OS update...silly isnt...

Better get an Nexus, since Manufacturer like to forget very quick old phones (less than 1 year old) hehehehe

Because there are lumias from 2011 and 2012 that will not be NOT be receiving Windows 10. So just your statement that "EVERY" phone will receive updates is ridiculous.

If i pick up a friend's phone, sometimes it tends to take me a couple minutes before i figure out what the heck is going on.
And if you don't think different UI experiences affect end-users, go move from Win7 to Win8, then come back.
Sometimes fragmentation is a good thing. Competition to beat the other guy's new features sparks innovation. I don't know how much I like it in this case.
This is where Apple got it right (and i'm saying this as an Android person). They didn't let the mfgrs or carriers bully them. I respect them for that.

But then again, if you were stuck so far along in Symbian then either WP or Blackberry may be huge hits for your: they are both backwards thinking and unwilling to keep up with the times.
