if you have used Xiaomi or MIUI devices before, 1gb is enough for daily use.

Ram usage in an android is optimized differently from Windows. The system tends to take up most ram space to get prompt response.

@GSMArena staff: Now, you guys made it "Red 2" in the 2nd paragraph after the picture. :D But that's an apparent mistake, so it won't confuse anyone... Lol.

BTW I already have Redmi 1S, in use daily.

I think Redmi 2 is definitely better in almost all matters, but since we already know its problems with 1 GB RAM, I wouldn't go for 1 GB version of this.

I would gladly go for 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory limited edition.

The screen protection isn't mentioned in specs available at mi.com/in or any other place. Could you please verify this? I am concerned about it because my wife's phone has a broken display and I was hoping to replace it with this one.

Guys, its Snapdragon 410, not 420... Please correct the mistake.

As a sidenote: 420 is an Indian IPC offence, which means trickery/ cheating.
As slang, We Indians often say, "he/ she is a 420" if the person in question is clever...
