They really need to stop this stupid trend of plating or making phones in pure gold, only dumb rich idiots will buy them ...and it wont have any resell value like a rolex or even when the new model comes out trying to get your full money investment is near impossible. And i work in communication compagny and all our customers always say why buy this one if in 12 month a new model comes out?. and they are right its worth it when you skip 1 gen IMo like from S4 to S6 fine, from S4 to S5 then S6 ur just waisting your money

The gold casing and saphire face covers are just window dressing at that point.
But yes, a 12K smart watch is dafter, but at that point the distinction is relative.

Ultimately, both items will be obsolete and ready to throw away in 2-3 year. There's buying wisely and there's wasting money. $12K on a Rolex is wise, imo. $12K on a gold Apple Watch is a waste.

Both are really silly product options, mind, and kinda tacky compared to the base (read: nicer looking and far, far cheaper) models.
