Kempler&Strauss WPhone is the smallest watch phone, costs $199

06 October, 2009
Kempler & Strauss's WPhone is certainly not the world's first wristwatch phone, but strives to the world's smallest one. It comes with a touchscreen display, 4 gigs worth of onboard storage, a microSD card slot...

An little news for all those who want this wphone, it will be sold on kiosks in malls for 199 bucks some say even for less cause those are built in China, I thinked this piece of niche will be sold in salons, so I was wrong. Anyone wants cheap toy? Run to nearest kiosk(Now you can be happy ri, they are coming to delhi:D). I join to kinks opinion, I wouldn't wear this either.

Forget about all the extra functions, just the abillity to have a stylish wrist watch that is a phone is enough. It's something different that we don't often appreciate.

A round of applause for Kempler & Strauss.

As usual Everyone COMPLAINS No one is actually appreciating the design & features for its value, you cant expect it to be like 007 watch & cost $199 in today's world.

What's all that storage for if the photos are all VGA? Cant exactly watch a movie on that tiny screen and a music player - you would be forced to use a bluetooh headset which would murder you on battery life. Perhaps its to double op as your "always there" mass storage? i think they could have left the card slot out and only had 2gb internal 0 that more than sufficient. Nokia 6300 classic users make do with 1gb and the're happy.

                                    Guys,
I own a watch phone (W968) and I have to say that they can be really handy. The problem is that battery life is not enough for an average user (they say UP TO 150 hours, which basically means that it you have an important call witch takes 40 min you run out of battery right away... it does not last a day...) and texting is hard (but this wphone seems to be more user-friendly).
Well my first comment would be: the battery seems to last as long as mine (or in other words: not enough), second is: IT IS NOT THE SMALLEST BY FAR!
My W968 has the following size: 48*48*17mm
                                    the famous LG: 49 x 39 x 13.8 mm
                                    and the Wphone : 54 x 48 x 17 mm
its REALLY not the smallest. Now if someone wants to use the SDCard argument: My watch does also have it...
Oh yes, the price: my did cost US$130 and is already for sale at ipmart, this one has no info. Ok, my comes from china, but these guys are also not that known...
So whats the purpose of my comment:
                                    1. This is not as good as it looks
                                    2. What I am waiting for: a smaller (40x40x12) watchphone with sd and a better battery (a led display could help..)
Please, if I read something wrong, let me know...

just wonder about the wrist cancer possibility. the normal phone cauz serious hazard when its in touch with the skin near the brain (when we make calls).....what about that?
