I was just informed by my sprint tec. Rep that goggle has no intention of updating the software on any of the moto devices. No mater what generation the device.

Received lolipop 5.1 in moto x first gen. Remember only one thing backup ut contacts before u upgrade to lolipop.

Motorola's big mistake was announcing the Lollipop update way too early. They should have waited until the updates were ready and tested and then made their announcement, complete with launch dates for each model in each country.
As it is users of Android phones have been waiting expectantly for the update since at least November 2014 and now we are told that some users will have to wait longer because they are going straight to the 5.1 update.
Let's hope they will learn lessons from this.
