BTW this sensor is very unique as it has never been used on any other smartphone
its Sony IMX234 sensor 1.12µm pixels, 1/2.6" CMOS size combo with OIS 2.0 with toshiba 8 mp front

That said, current used DDR4 in the phones I saw thus far, has a higher clock speed that most commonly used DDR3, at the same width memory controller. It will give a bigger memory bandwidth, but the only apps that technically could use that would be apps heavy on the GPU. The GPU's in all these new SoCs still are not really strong enough to really need all the extra bandwidth. So, except for maybe having a few benchmarks that show bigger bandwidth, there's no real use.
As said, the main benefit would be the energy efficiency of the new DDR4, but as you don't get the choice in which memory your phone of preference is going to be equiped with anyways, the point is a bit moot. iI will remain no more than a tiny metric in the overal efficiency the phone has.

Generally, DDR4 is just a spec, which tells on what voltage it runs and at which speed range. The speed of the DDR4 in these new phones technically could be lower than the speed of the DDR3 in the most recent phones. Then there is the memory-bus, which for one part is a specific width, which is important for overal performance, but next to that, it's efficiency of the bus that matters. With new DDR standards you need to use a new memory-interface, which can be less efficient than the interface of the older DDR standard (due to years of optimizing), even if the width is the same. This would cause that faster speed new spec DDR memory still does not outperform the old spec DDR, or at least not by much.
Now, technically DDR4 is more energy efficient, when compared to DDR3, which gives phone-builders some extra space to work with, but in the end even that is a moot point, as you buy a package with a smartphone, which has specific performance metrics. One with DDR3 might end up being a more compelling choice than one with DDR4 inside, for many different reasons.
In short, just because the spec sheet says DDR4, it does not mean the phone will be better due to it. It likely has a bit better memory-performance, but average Joe likely won't ever notice it in real life situations.

However as I assemble my own comp so I do know a bit about pc components. My last rig assembled in 2012 had the following config : i7 2600k @ 4.5 ghz(OC)/ ASUS P8Z68 V-pro gen3 / HD 7970 x2 / 16 GB corsair vengeance / Corsair H100 / Corsair AX 1200 / Corsair FORCE 3 GT 128 GB ssd / WD Caviar green 2TB / Thermaltake level 10 gt case/
The way I reason is for example if my motherboard supports the next gen of ram I would definitely go for it even if it is backwards compatible, no point in starting with a to be outdated component.
Every component has a certain period after which it starts becoming incompatible with other components or redundant on account of arrival of next gen architecture.

You'd think that 4 must be better than 3, but it's everything behind that piece of memory that makes or breaks it's actual performance. A phone with DDR3 can outperform a phone with DDR4 without breaking a sweat, if the rest of the parameters is in favor of the DDR3 carrying device.
Generally, it's a lot of fan-based talk being outed, nothing else.

sony has poor software the 13mp camera on g3 can easily matches the 20mp on the z2 and z3.
given g3 uses sony camera.
