raj, 16 Apr 2015same thing happend to me i have tried twce downloading the ... moreJust follow my steps properly, you are obviously missing many steps, simply downloading the file to your phone wont do anything on it's own, you are not going to get a notification by just downloading the ROM zip.
Manual update means going into recovery and applying the update ROM zip file.

One thing that sucks is the adaptive display brightness. This nonsense is a carry over from the Apple cancerous trend. It was far better with auto brightness that changes instantly and gives the right brightness levels for the available lighting. In CM11S you could even change the lux levels and sensitivity lists.
Adaptive brightness reduces the brightness sometimes to unreadable levels when you are in a slightly low light environment and then suddenly ramps it up again to levels that would be too much for your eyes.
This is a Google issue as they are the ones who introduced this rubbish feature. The biggest failure of Lollipop so far.
Would be nice if Cyanogen and Oneplus release some feature on their ROMS to enable auto brightness the way it used to be.

Is is going to be an ota update or v have to manually flash it. I haven't received any notification and the software update says latest update already installed for 4.4.4

Updated phone firmware manually it works superb. Lolipop is super no issues video quality increased

It turned out that my supplier had terminated the subscription by mistake. They reopened it and after 15 mins my phone was fully functional. Its hard to blame OnePlus for that - but maybe a good lesson learned after all.
Strange that the SIM card was working perfectly just before the phone restart and then not afterwards - thought that it would stop working immediately when the supplier canceled the subscription. Never mind. Panik over - have a nice day :)

Did you try searching your service provider manually and try see if it registers on the network? If it is unable to detect any networks then it would be an issue with the baseband. Then you can try re applying the update.

Manually updated my OnePlus and all went well - except I cannot get access to the mobile network now. It says netwoerk unavailable - which is not true, triple checked and then again. Rebooted several times.
Anything I need to do - or should I just have waited for the OTA rollout?
I have a colleague with same OnePlus and same network provider - he got the OTA rollout and upgraded with no issues at all.
I didn't brick the phone - but it's no use to me either in this state :)

AnonD-386922, 16 Apr 2015Can you explain me what is meant by root directory?If you open the internal storage icon on 'My Computer' after connecting your OPO, the first view of the folders and files inside it is the "root directory". Just means main path without going into sub folders inside the storage unit. A unix term.
You can actually place it anywhere you want in the phone, you just have to navigate to it when you choose "apply update". Putting it on the root of your storage makes life easier.
