The screen is still perfect(dropped numerous times), no burn in, still perfect colour. It's running on the 4th battery now. My mum uses for video chat all the time. LOL. AMOLED only has burn in issue if you leave the screen on with static display for a long time.

For the quality the phones have, I think I'll already be buying one, two or even three new phones before I'll be replacing the battery. And I believe anyone who could afford these phones would probably be the same as me. And it's really cheap. So stop whining all you ifans and Samsung haters, it's stup*d! And these phones are not for you. So shut it.

Companies are making lots of money by these practices. When one can simply replace old battery by buying new one from market, companies got an idea to raid people to spend unnecessary money in the account of companies. Now we would have to spend a fortune to just get our batteries replaced .

Not so alarming. Usually a defective phone, wether a battery or the screen, one is always entitled for unit replacement.

Everyone here should know the consequences of this. You can't really trust a stranger. Or you risk your private photos/videos being pasted all over the web.

Things you should do before handing over your phone (for servicing):

                            1. Take full Nandroid backup of your phone (This obviously needs root)

                            2. Remove the memory card if any

                            3. Factory Reset your phone

                            4. Enable Encryption from Settings menu

                            # Hand over the phone for repair/servicing #

                            5. Once you get your phone back, use the Nandroid backup we created in Step 1 to restore your phone in its original (as in before you took the Nandroid backup) condition

Save this somewhere, you will need it in the future as mobile companies are going all internal storage and non-removable battery.

$45 is ok but unlike Apple with Apple Store which can replace battery in 10 minutes, Samsung requires you to ship the phone to Samsung service center which means a few weeks of no phone. Kinda unacceptable.

The same is true of screen replacement. iPhone 6 is $109 and 6+ is $129 but you can have it done in 10 minutes at an Apple Store.

Apple includes one year of limited coverage with every iPhone purchase, but that doesn’t cover accidental damage.

Whats the price for replacement in India? You should update the post with the prices in India, many people here would like to know the screen and battery replacement cost. I think 45$ is reasonable. On the other hand for 199$ you can buy a Moto G unlocked here, so thats IMO too much. Take care of your phones folks!
